The New Standard for Pipe Fittings
Love the SharkBite product. Great build quality. Used the SharkBite connectors to install my new Rheem water heater lines in place of the old soldered copper fittings. It's been about 6 months and no sign of leaks. Being able to remove the fittings, if needed, is a huge plus. Definitely, get the Safe Seal Depth and Pipe Deburring Tool and Push-to-Connect-Disconnect Tool from SharkBite. They will ensure you fully insert the pipe into the SharkBite fitting and can attach and reattach the fittings if necessary. I think that is where people run into problems. They don't seat the pipe all of the way into the SharkBite fitting and they experience leaks.

I cut the pipe and was very easy to install. It’s a time saver. No leaks. Saved the cost of hiring a plumber. Just.

A decent choice for diy plumbing
Pretty easy, proper preparation is critical. You must debur copper to avoid damage to the o-ring. Shark sells a tool for this which also shows how deep to push the connection. I’m using this to add a second inline shut off to my irrigation system as the original is not completely stopping the flow.

Winterize outside faucet
Installed in crawlspace on line going to outside faucet so I could drain line for winter. Easy to install and drain line. Best to mount valve on wood to stabilize.
