Must read for dog owners and trainers!
I recently purchased this book for my Kindle, and will be buying the hardback version as well. Owning an adolescent dog is no easy task, as we know from all the teenage dogs that fill up shelters. It's a very trying period. Sue Brown does a beautiful job of describing what behaviors to expect during this time period, and has easy to use charts to keep track of your goals and setting up game plans for problematic situations. She speaks from experience, and shares stories or her dog, Romeo, whose adolescence she documented for the sake of other owners of young dogs. If this book came with the purchase of every puppy, I honestly believe we would have a lot less adolescent dogs getting sent back to shelters in the United States. It sheds a lot of insight on your dog's point of view and helps you see the innocence in crazy dog behavior. Like I said, I have the Kindle version for myself, but I'm getting the hardback version as well to use as an easy reference. Thank you, Sue Brown, for writing this book!

Juvenile Delinquent Dogs
Great book for us who need an instruction manual for training, behavior modification, positive training ideas and concepts Easy to read and work the goals and expectations for your particular dog. Since my 7 mo is a Vizsla, like the authors "Romeo" I am finding it easy to able to implement many of her ideas, strategies, and breed specific knowledge. Although any breed of any age could easily be helped through these tenuous, teenaged tendencies that can be very frustrating, if their owner cares enough. Read her book. Along with the other books she recommends. Culture Clash was great and anything by Karen Pyor is also excellent. Good job. Great Co ( shout out to Light of Dog family. My dogs tug toy is still going strong!!

Very good and easy to understand
Sue Brown does a good job of explaining what is going on with your dog and making a connection with the reader. A lot of the training techniques are what you would use for any positive training.

JD Dogs book by Sue Brown
There is so much written about dealing with and training puppies but so little on managing the next stage of mischief, canine adolescence. Sue used her own experiences with her very energetic Visla, Romeo, as well as helping so many people in her "Juvenice Delinquents" classes. She has the experience and background to offer pragmatic, constructive and positive solutions for what people often perceive as "bad" behavior when in actuality it is usually just normal dog behavior. I love the way Sue tells us why these energetic youngsters do what they do but also how to help us with strategies to help them fit into human lifestyles. I read a lot of dog books as a trainer of service dogs and this one is the best I have found for dealing with adolescents.

A must-read for owners of dogs 5-18 months!
As a professional trainer, the bulk of my practice is made up of adolescent dogs. Few people realize that the first couple of months with a new puppy is the easy part, it is the adolescent stage that is the longest, most difficult period in puppy raising. This book covers everything I recommend to my clients and more. A thorough, well-written and practical guide for the owners of adolescent puppies. Will be adding to my recommended reading list!
