Underberg 2025 Annual Collector Tin - Limited Edition

Many years ago I used Swedish Bitters for stomach woes. These are much the same, but better. They have a much more palatable taste. They are premeasured when you need a dose. And the tin is obviously refillable, so I can order more in a regular package and reuse the tin. They worked quickly for me when the bloating started, on several different occasions now. I highly recommend these. Also, the flavor is the kind I would want to use in a drink calling for bitters to be added.

This product is a goldmine of discovery. It is astonishing how fast Underberg digestive works once you have gulped the contents in one shot. Initially, I thought Underberg's claims for immediate comfort after food and drink indulgence, or over indulgence, were unrealistic. But after the first drink, I was instantly transformed into a Underberg junkie. I do not know if this outcome is for the better or worse, but for now and the foreseeable future, I religiously click on the Amazon Reorder button once I am half way through the dozen bottles. The unsettling fear that I may find myself without and descending into withdrawls is ample motivation enough. Also, the Annual Gift Tin costs a couple cents more than the cardboard package option, and its well worth it. Why? Well, you just have a lot of nice little decorative tin containers sitting around in which you can stuff your stash, pins, buttons, or buds. Another fascinating discovery included inside each tin of 12 Underberg bottles, is a paper insert drawing the user into a world-wide cult of people who collect the plastic tops until they have enough to redeem them for cool but weird merchandise. Not only are the Underberg caps green, but the whole business of collecting these plastic bottle tops is like the German version of the once popular American trading S & H Green Stamps. Anyone born after 1990 may have missed this mania about licking gummed stamps given with department store, supermarket, and gasoline station purchases, and then pasting them into small paper booklets until one had enough booklets to exchange them at local S & H Green Stamp stores for pots, pans, and a miscellany of household items. Finally, it is oddly comforting to know there still exists--albeit on the remote fringes of culture--rare and almost extinct pockets of humanity engaged in the niggling preoccupation with the inconsequential.

My German motherinlaw turned me onto this. I buy this regularly. It’s good stuff and it works. Just a simple sip will do. It is not necessary to drink a whole bottle as they suggest.

Terrific bitters substitution in an old fashioned. Great packaging!

The first time I tried this, I highly doubted there would ever be a second time as I found the taste to be horrible. What I discovered though was that if I had any discomfort from overeating, eating too much greasy food or just anything that would cause stomach upset, this would take care of it, almost instantly. So as a tasty nightcap, I would never drink it, as a medication to assist with stomach issues, it is terrific.

I have loved Underberg for years. This is a nice collectors tin and is perfect for keeping your bottlecaps contained.
