I had NO idea which basket was a good choice, or even the slightest clue about what I was doing when I bought these. I was told a retaining wall would cost me about 4k. And I just have this most ridiculous thing where I think I can do stuff I’ve never done before and overestimate my ability. Whilst also underestimating the difficulty of a task. Anyway I got a bunch of these, they were perfect. I’d advise choosing a stone you can just shovel in. I decided to go pick up 3 tons of Cornish stone and that’s a kind of ‘place carefully like you’re playing Tetris’ kind of job. It looks gorgeous, but yeah if you want to do it quickly don’t do that. I am also topping this with wood now to finish it off. I put over 100m2 mud behind them and they aren’t budging. Quick tip I learned for stability- if you don’t go higher than the depth, they will definitely not fall over. Overall this is a star buy. They are sturdy, easy to put together (I used the twirly things I forget what they’re called but they’re included) and great value. If you can find free stone you’re laughing. Until you go and collect it and realise the massive van you borrowed with a mate will still need to do 3 trips, I did fill 5x 100x50x50 baskets though. Also get them level before you fill. I almost didn’t do this part properly and thank god I did because I would’ve cried for days if I would’ve had to empty and refill! I also used patio and path base under to reduce random settling in time. These baskets are great. I will try to remember to upload a picture when the wood is on top and they’re finished.

Very sturdy, put together easily, although it helps to have a second person to hold the sides together. Would recommend watch a You Tube video to know how it fits together. Now full of stones I have collected from my field and is very sturdy and very unlikely to be knocked over by anything.

I've used 6 of these gabion baskets now as retaining structures on top of an old pathway (hence slight unevenness on top, nothing to do with the gabions themselves) and under the pathway over compressed type 1 mot. I've assembled these myself (30 year old woman) using reclaimed Cotswold stone. Good Points: - thick metal - sturdy - very easy to assemble alone - anti bulge mechanisms work well - great price Neutral points: - if you assemble it alone then lift it to move it the corkscrews will come out 😂 a very minor point but something to be aware of. - the metal loses its shine after a few weeks of being outside. Doesn't bother me but again perhaps worth noting. - Note the 80cm tall ones are harder to fill if you use stone layering, purely as it's difficult to reach the bottom with a bent stance. Obviously not impossible, but I did get a lot of scrapes! Overall I'd recommend these and have Qty 4 more in my basket to finish my garden landscaping project! Hope this was useful.

After a careful search, I settled on these and ordered a large number for a big garden project. I am glad I did. At 1000mm x 300mm x 300mm and with 4mm wire, they are strong and versatile but small enough for one person to assemble and fill relatively easily. At the same time, they are sturdy, straight and well made. At £19 the price was good and I am delighted with the purchase.

Enkla att montera och gjorda av stabilt material. Fyllde med 90/150 stenkross. Monterade ett 32 mm PP rör i varannan korg för att montera små spottar (steplight garden). Fyllde med 8/16 bakom. Jag använde 45x90 reglar för att vara säker att korgarna skulle hålla formen medans jag fyllde. Monterade dem halvvägs upp med spännremmar. Underlaget var 50 cm djupt packat 0/16 grus.
