Offset Patio Umbrella Base with Wheels, Sand/Water Filled Square, 35.4" X 35.4" X 7.9"

Works perfectly with my purple leaf 11 foot round cantilever umbrella. Base appears to be well made. I appreciated the four removable canisters with very large openings to add sand and water. Sand was relatively easy to fill due to the large openings in the top of the canisters. Many of the other bases I looked at had a very small opening, reportedly making filling difficult. I was quickly and easily able to add 50 pounds of play sand purchased at Home Depot to each canister. However, a 50 pound bag of very dry play sand fully filled each canister preventing me from adding the minimum amount stated in the directions. I chose not to add water to prevent damage due to freezing as the base will be used in below freezing conditions with the umbrella serving as a cover over my hot tub.However, after filling, the base weighs a total of 268 pounds with a large footprint making me confident that it will be heavy enough to keep the umbrella stable on my deck. The mounting bracket that came with the umbrella was easy to install to the base with the provided four bolts. The mechanism to raise and lower the wheels operates very smoothly. With the wheels down the base is relatively easy to move around my deck. This feature will allow me to move the umbrella to serve different areas. While admittedly more expensive than other available umbrella basis, I believe the quality of this base and it’s features make it a great value for my use.

Well designed system for raising and lowering the base. The frame and mechanism are a welded steel that is powder-coasted steel and heavy duty - including the swivel castors. Liked that it is a clean design with a simple crank mechanism to raise the base on castors and lower it on separate pads once it is positioned. It has 4 separate tanks for adding water/sand with openings that are large enough to add sand only (which we will do to avoid water freezing this winter). This will definitely make moving or positioning our Purple Leaf 8x8 cantilevered umbrella much easier because we are not sure what location on our patio the umbrella should be. Great product and would buy again.

Outstanding base for a Purple Leaf umbrella. Easy to assemble, parts were very good quality, retractable wheels are invaluable for relocating the umbrella, and can use both water or sand for weight. Highly recommend.

After comparing numerous umbrella bases, I’m thrilled with my decision to purchase this one. It’s impressively sturdy—truly built like a tank—but still rolls effortlessly on its wheels. One standout feature is the wide openings on the four tanks, making it far easier to add sand and water compared to other models. That said, proper setup does require some effort. It took two of us about an hour to complete the process, as we filled each container with a 50lb bag of sand and topped it off with water. Using a rod to stir the sand-water mixture is essential to maximize capacity—otherwise, you won’t get as much water into the tanks. Living in Florida, we wanted the maximum weight to ensure stability in the face of sudden storms, and this base delivers. To complement it, I purchased the 11’ Purple Leaf umbrella, which pairs perfectly. After encountering a minor issue with the umbrella, I reached out to Purple Leaf’s customer service team and was incredibly impressed by their responsiveness and support. They made addressing the issue seamless and stress-free. In summary, this product and Purple Leaf’s exceptional customer service have exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend their products for anyone seeking durability, functionality, and outstanding support!

This was exactly what I was looking for to go with Purple Leaf 10x12 umbrella for my deck. It was simple to set up, just add sand and water. Nice they built it with 4 seperate ballast containers in case you ever needed to move it to a different level. It is very simple to raise the wheels with a crank and then just move the base where ever you need it (on the same level). Because of how the sun progresses during the day this is a big deal to make sure you have the shade where you need it. If I had chosen a stationary base, I would have been disappointed. It is pricey, but well made and adds value to the umbrella utility. Would definitely purchase again and recommend.

This is a high quality, rock solid base we purchased for our Purple Leaf 11' Sunbrella cantilever umbrella. Assembly was super easy but please note, I used the 4 mounting screws that came with the umbrella and not the 2 mounting screws that came with the base, (the heads on the screws that came with the base were too large to mount with the umbrella base.) I elected to fill the weight blatters with water, and on our first use it easily held the umbrella stable in 12mph wind gusts. The raising and lower of the wheels is a simple crank, easy enough for a child to use. The wheels are commercial quality and roll easily on our stamped concrete. One consideration is that the base is quite large... But having the ability to simply move the umbrella, along with the very heavy weight easily countered the size. If you require a rolling base for your Purple Leaf offset umbrella don't hesitate to purchase.
