Last comic I needed to complete the series. These are such excellent quality books. And the writing and art lives up to the show. It arrived fast and with no damage.

Great price and great comic, as a long time fan I have no complaints of the content. Great price for almost brand new looking comic. Slight scrapes to the cover art and bends on the corners but nothing too bad!

I really enjoyed this book and can't wait to get the next one. This review will be spoiler free. This book takes place immediately after book three, so if you haven't already, go watch the Avatar the last Airbender on Netflix. This book does a good job on making you feel like you're still watching the show, the characters still act how you'd expect and the things that happen in this story actually make sense. It doesn't feel like a forced issue that was created JUST so the writers had something to work with. The art is amazing and there are a few pages of concept art in the book of the book in case you were wondering. The book is 9 inches long, 6 wide and is a little under half an inch thick. (For reference those chess board sqaures are 2.5 inches) This is just like the library edition but it's way smaller, the exact size of the original there parts. You won't miss much if you don't get the library edition, the omnibus edition still has all three parts of the promise. The only thing you won't get are the annotation from the library edition, in my opinion they're not much of a selling point for me anyway. This book earned 5 stars from me, the story was realistic given the circumstances after book 3 and it made sense. (Boring shipping details) I pre-ordered this book a week before it was set to release and I received it a month after it released. So if you plan on getting the other two omnibus editions of The Search and The Rift then I'd pre-order them as soon as you can.

Absolutely suggest getting in to avatar the last airbender series, it is just so interesting and fun, it does have some heavy stuff but it is such a great thing to open your mind to!

Rediscovering ATTLA and failing in love all over again. Reading about Aang and the gang's further adventures make me happy.

The Promise, as well the other Avatar comics by Gene Luan Huang and Gurihiru are a bit controversial in the Avatar fandom. After reading this book, I can see why, but I also think the negative reactions a bit overblown. I suppose the biggest point of contention among fans is Aang and Katara's newfound tendency to refer to each other as "sweetie" and be a sickeningly sweet couple. This is annoying to be sure, but not nearly as much as some seem to think it is. There's a lot of other interesting things going on in this story that more than make up for it. The plot itself is very fascinating, and acts as a very logical continuation of Avatar's themes. A lot of work is done here to seriously examine the political state in the aftermath of the Hundred Year's War, as well as take a bit of a deeper dive into the complications of colonial societies. I also appreciate that the book takes a good look into the psychology of Aang and Zuko without retreading their character arcs from the series. This book is seriously unafraid to take the setting and characters in a new direction, which is very admirable. The only reason I'm giving The Promise four stars instead of five is that, alongside this politically and psychologically interesting story is a much less interesting story about Toph's first metalbending students. This subplot isn't bad by any means, but it's so much less interesting than the main plot - as well as so much goofier - that it ends up feeling very distracting. I think that Huang and Dark Horse Comics should have planned to put Toph's subplot in its own arc, in order to give The Promise's A-plot more room to breathe. However, this is still a great comic overall. Alongside the interesting plot, the dialogue ("sweetie" overload aside) is excellent and perfectly grabs the feeling of the original show, and Gurihiru's art fits the comic perfectly. This is a must for Avatar fans.

If you consider yourself an ATLA fan, then this is a no-brainer purchase. I've heard some talk about the dialogue not being as natural, and while I see what people mean, the book is still awesome if you're dying to know what happens next after Aang defeats Ozai. I also think it's sort of a format thing, cause it's a comic, not the show. Hard to be as deep and intricate with dialogue in this format. The book picks up directly after the events of the show and it shows you exactly what all the characters are up to, and I really mean almost all. The book contains Aang, Katara, Sokka, Toph, Appa, Momo, Zuko, Mai, Ozai, Suki, the Earth king, Ty Lee, even Smellerbee and the Duke. Plus some new side characters that are on par with what you might expect from this universe

A wonderful follow up story to the events narrated in the animated series. Beautifully written with more philosophical topics. Absolutely brilliant!

This is a wonderful new story that is doing the highly acclaimed TV show justice. If you feel down after you've seen the final episode, simply continue with this comic. It's almost like watching the fourth season. I admit I wasn't a huge fan of comics in general, but that was before I gave this one a shot, since I wanted to know how the continues with the characters that grew close to my heart. Not for a split second did I regret spending my money on it. And after finishing this chapter, I will definitely continue with the next one.

Awesome book continuing where the anime ended. Good quality book! Would recommend to others

Comprei o livro de capa comum. Vale a pena, pra quem quer economizar e mesmo assim ler a história. Dei 5 estrelas porque o produto foi entregue sem problema algum, rápido, bem cuidado. Quanto a história, dou um 3/5. É bom ler mais sobre ATLA, mas a história deixa a desejar. Eles tinham tudo pra construir um clássico, mas os personagens que conhecemos por causa de toda a série, agem de maneira estranha. O Zuko está em profundo conflito e em nenhum momento fala com Iroh... Apenas no final isso é endereçado, mas mesmo assim de forma leviana, como eles tivessem que explicar esse major plot hole. Aang age de maneira incoerente com seu personagem, com o Aang que conhecemos. Se transformando no Avatar State do nada e pronto para matar... A história B, da Toph é chata demais. Os alunos dela são personagens 2d, literalmente com jargões. O que me irrita é que a premissa é incrível, Zuko está em conflito com a mistura das tribos, teme não ser um Fire Lord bom o suficiente. Toph começa sua própria escola de Metalbending! São premissas que poderiam ter resultado em tantas coisas incríveis... Mas não, it falls short :( infelizmente. Gostaria que tivessem explorado mais Sokka e Sumi. Ty Lee nas Kyoshi Warriors devia ter aparecido mais e o relacionamento da Mai e do Zuko só é mencionado e nada aprofundado. Sério, eu queria muito que essa história fosse boa. Espero que em The Search as coisas melhorem e os personagens ajam como os personagens da série.

En cuanto al producto. Cumple completamente las expectativas. La tapa es blanda, las imagenes tienen muy buena calidad y el libro vino en perfecto estado. Tiene el tamaño de un A5 más o menos. Está todo en inglés pero es muy fácil de leer. Al final del libro vienen algunos diseños de los personajes y posibles portadas para el libro. sin duda lo recomendaría. En cuanto a Amazon. El producto llegó muy rápido y el repartidor cumplió con las medidas covid. El paquete no tenía ningún golpe y estaba todo bien.
