Aluminum Diesel Fuel Tank Cover for the latest 2019-2025 Dodge Ram 1500 2500 3500 only (three vertical plastic pillars at fuel filler port)

I have a Dodge 2021 2500 RAM. The cap fits snug and seem great quality. The issue is it is just ever so slightly too long and pushes the fuel neck flap open when installed. I put the cheap plastic cover back on the fuel cap and will keep this cap in the event I lose the cheap plastic one and need to order a replacement cheap cap. SHame they didnt get the length right as it is well made other wise.

The green cap pushes the flapper down a little bit which cause the tank not to be air tight. Which wouldn't matter otherwise but I'm running a gravity feed fuel cell. This piece causes the factory tank to overfill and run on the ground

I have issue with these modern diesel trucks that say the "flapper" is good enough. Perhaps for a "driveway princess" truck, IDK.Not on the roads we travel on! We live in Alaska, and spend our summers out and about. On one trip down a dirt and dusty trail on my previous 2017 Ram Ecodiesel, the inside of the fuel door would be just caked in dust.These aluminum caps work well. I'm on my second diesel truck, a new 2021 Ram 2500 Cummins, and I did not hesitate to order this.While this fuel cap cost more then some, I like the locking tabs, o-ring sealed, and the dirt stays out. It seems to be very well made.I was satisfied with my purchase.

Just to be clear the craftsmanship is top notch for fit and finish. But I have some dislikes.1: when putting cap on there is less than ⅛ turn to lock in place. I would prefer more but it looks like the truck filler neck is the limiting factor.2: The OD has obrounds machined on the periphery, in cold weather it’s really hard to get a good grip with gloves or bare hands. A knurl or serrations would be ideal.Likes1: very high quality machining.2 lettering is oriented parallel to vehicle3: Keeps dirt out of filler neckWantI would jump right in for a locking version. I could see this getting legs easily.Would like a lanyard but I appreciate the design challenges to have one.

I didn't know what to expect with this Diesel Fuel Cap but I knew I didn't like the fuel fill not being covered and basically pointing up in the air. It was expensive but I thought that may be a good thing if it was good quality. Anything dropping into the fuel fill door would be dropped into the fuel tank without the cap. This cap fits good and latches in. It has a rubber gasket to seal it off. The magnetic attachment to the fender while filling is a nice feature. It will keep me from forgetting to install it and losing it because I laid it on top of the bed and forgot.

You have to push down hard and twist to get it to stay. The last two times I checked it it was just sitting in the filler tube. When you put it in it pushes the flap down and over time it wiggles out because it really doesn’t lock down. The gasket only seals when twisted tight but only for a short time. Bummer it’s well made but over goes into the filler neck to far to work properly.Will be returning.

I own 2020 ram 2500. Ordered this gas cap. Seems very well made, around magnet for storage while pumping the black gold into the tank. The cap does not twist on, feels like it is not secure. Returned for refund. Genos garage locking cap is now ordered for 20 bucks more.Update.The company immediately reached out to me to rectify the fit issue. They were very receptive. Great company. I would recommend giving this a shot.I still replaced the fuel cap with a icing genos garage one.

It remains a mystery why RAM does not provide a fuel cap for their diesel trucks, if for nothing else, to keep foreign matter out of the refueling line. Regardless, this fuel cap fit perfectly on my 2021 RAM 2500 Cummins fuel inlet. It also has a powerful magnet at its' base that sticks nicely to the inside fuel cover hinge when refueling. As well made as this product is, I think the $50 price tag is a bit steep, which is why I did not give it 5 stars, but absent competition, it is what it is, if you want one.
