I have used a ton of nail polishes, from high end to drugstore, and this is my favorite for a natural look. It makes nails look healthy and neat. The color is sheer and blends in with my skintone. It seems like there is no color payoff, but there is a definite difference between my nails that are painted vs bare. There is a slight blue “shimmer” that can be seen at certain angles.My nails are very slightly ridged, and this makes them look completely smooth. It also makes them grow extremely fast. I keep my nails short, and this product makes them grow so fast I have to cut them every week! I feel my nails are also stronger/thicker after using this product. I no longer have to worry about them splitting.I’m not the best at painting my nails, I always end up getting some on my skin. This is a carefree product, as it isn’t noticeable if I paint outside the lines. If any does dry on my skin it just immediately flakes off. No base coat or top coat is needed, this is an all in one product, so application takes much less time than traditional polish. This polish dries very quickly, fully hardened in under 5 minutes. Also, no chipping at all until around 8 days. I am tough on my hands, so it is a miracle this lasts so long. My mom has never had a polish last longer than 2 days on her nails, and this lasts a full week on her as well.The only negative I can come up with is the smell. It has a traditional nail polish smell but it is very strong.In my opinion, this is the perfect nail polish. It is ideal for times when I don’t want anything fussy, but also don’t want bare nails. I highly recommend this to anyone wanting to improve the health of their nails.

I am updating to 5 Stars after a year of regular use.This is now my Go-To. I don't ever want to be without it.#1 It wears amazingly well! I will apply 3-4 coats over the course of a week and it will hold up for two weeks, or more. I file the edge of my nail for maintenance, but the polish does NOT CHIP! And I am not careful with my hands. dishes, gardening, cleaning, etc...#2 It does actually improve nail health when used consistently. I still like to do color manis and sometimes a dip polish, and this Dermalect is my take- a- break polish that keeps my nails protected and pretty between colors. I use a cuticle oil or balm with it and my nails are healthier at 62 than they were when I was 32! And it is really beautiful on. The color is perfectly neutral with a subtle shimmer.I pray to God that they don't discontinue it or change the formula because I don't EVER want to be without it!I actually like this product very much.It applied easily and smoothly, and resists wear and chipping.I purchased it to take on a beach vacation as a “once and done” manicure. I could apply a coat every couple days and it looked neat and classy. It didn’t chip at all for me. I keep my nails just past the edge of my finger tips.It feels like it reinforced my nails by being a protective shield, but whether it actually strengthens my nails, not convinced . Nails are basically dead tissue, the only part that is actually growing is below the cuticle. So if you want to strengthen the new growth, eat healthy and massage a good cuticle oil multiple times a day.I deduct one star because I think it is a bit expensive for a product of this type. Otherwise, I like it a lot.

The photos in the description show more cover and more shimmer. There is really no coverage and no noticeable shimmer. It "sort of" hides the ridges, but not really. Need to change the description to be totally sheer. For this much money I expected more. Save your $$$ and get another product. Of course, impossible to return which really makes it annoying.Update One Year LaterAfter I wrote the original review, I shoved the product in a drawer and didn’t take it out until about three months ago. My nails were I horrible condition, splitting vertically. I was desperate, so I tried this. I was actually impressed with the difference in my nails over the next few weeks, which I attribute to this product. Highly recommend now with caveat that it yellows a bit over time. But still makes my nails much healthier.

I like this as a polish as it does fill in ridges and makes my nails look healthier. Nice nude color with a little bit of shimmer. Great for short nails.

This looks great when I first put in on - 2 coats. However, it does not even last through the day. it wears right off and in fact actually makes my nails split in the worn off part. I have vertical ridges in my elderly nails and this did nothing for that. I see no benefit what so ever to this nail treatment and it is expensive. I get better results with a biotin nail base cover.
