OFC Express TV Stand 42 x 14 x 5.25, Black

We needed a platform for our 60" Panasonic plasma flat screen that would fit our entertainment center and allow us to place a sound bar beneath the flat screen without too much hassle (trying to avoid wall mounting either the sound bar or television). This product fit the bill - relatively inexpensive, good quality, not exceptional, but fair for the price, and designed for the size of our entertainment center and the weight of our flat screen. The stand comes fully assembled, but when I removed it from the box one side panel had broken off from the top. This did not seem to be the fault of the manufacturer, as the construction is sound and the packing seemed designed to protect the unit as much as possible. I suspect that the box was handled a bit roughly in transit and some impact on the end of the box was sufficient to break the side panel. I debated whether to return the unit, but after examining the damage I decided to use "L" braces to repair it myself, since the repairs could be made on the inside of the unit without effecting the appearance of the stand. I also realized that the unit has a center panel to help support the weight of the television - not immediately apparent in the pictures online, but evident on closer examination. Once again, not the fault of the manufacturer, simply my oversight while shopping. However, since the center support would restrict placing the sound bar underneath the stand as planned, and since I was already in "do-it-yourself" mode, I elected to cut off the front few inches of the center panel, leaving enough to permit weight-bearing. I also secured the center panel with an additional "L" brace. None of my fixes created a cosmetic problem, and we now have a shelf for our television that allows us to use our sound bar. My only recommendation to the manufacturer would be to ship the product unassembled. There are few enough pieces that could easily be attached by the consumer, and would help ensure the unit arriving unbroken.

While I'd prefer to be able to move the center support slightly - perhaps include a few predrilled holes a few inches apart - all in all the product does precisely what it should. Packaging is "okay," not especially protective of corners, but the piece is of sufficient substance and holds my 50" television and appropriate devices beneath without any trouble. All sides of the product are finished, and the disks to cover the cam-drive hardware have good adhesive, excellent color match, and are much more substantial than the usual flimsy stickers.

The stand is very sturdy. Only drawback I found was the cords behind the TV showed and looked awful. Solution: Lowe's had black baseboard which they into 2 pieces - each piece the width of the stand. I put one piece behind the sound bar and the other piece behind the TV. This instantly solved the problem - no cords to look at now.

GREAT:. Received item shipping in prefect condition. Received very quickly as promised. MADE IN U.S.A. I received the larger box with item in it. NO ASSEMBLY REQUIRED. WHAT A SURPRISE. I WAS SO HAPPY. I'm so used to buying items that is made in China, Taiwan, etc that has 1,000 pieces with a 40 page instruction on how to build a simple item. When I received the item I actually just looked at the sealed box for a week not wanting to open it up and see all the pieces to be built. I thought its only 4 pieces of wood, can't be too bad. I'm Disabled its difficult for me to build things. To my surprise I opened the box and found it to be very well wrapped, protected, and completely built. I removed it, set my TV on it which the size was just perfect for my location. It took a whole 10 minutes. I'm so happy I would buy from this seller again. He sells quality items. Don't be taken by a knock off. Buy this one. Its just as describled. Very Solid.

This unit is well made but we had a problem putting our sound bar in front of it, our device are underneath in a cabinet. It sort of works but we worry we will knock it off when moving the cabinet or cleaning. More a problem with making everything work together. No problems with the shelf itself. The middle support eliminates the option to put the sound bar under, so make sure you SEE that in the photo.

I ordered this riser after trying 2 other products I found locally. I was trying to lift my TV from the top of the entertainment center just to give it a better viewing height. This is perfect. It came partially assembled which was a bonus. All the screws and locking nuts were installed so I literally on had to make 6 turns with my screwdriver and it was done. It also had preinstalled protective pads on the uprights so it won't damage the top of my entertainment center. The price is a bit high for what is just a basic shelf, but finding one that is only 5" high and sturdy enough to hold a TV is not that easy. Short of building one yourself, this is the best buy I could find. If I needed another item like this I would definitely look to OFC Express first.

We purchased this stand to go in our large wall unit and raise a 52 in Samsung flat screen. First of all, huge kudos for the fact that it came assembled and ready to use straight out of the box! That made up for any angst I had over paying extra for the black...the other colors were cheaper when I bought this. Yes, it's simple, and particle board, but it looks great - no unfinished edges or joints showing. I looked in stores for a couple of weeks before deciding on this stand, and I still haven't seen anything I like better for the price. It's sturdy and we have it set up just like the pic...satellite receiver under one side, DVD player on the other. Overall, very practical, functional, and serves it purpose perfectly. Would buy again!

For the price tag, I expected a bit more than laminated particle board. However, the item is solid and was easy to assemble. It holds up my 47" Sony Bravia very well, so no complaints. Thinking I could've hit up Target and purchased an identical item for half the price. Bottom line: Very functional, Easy to assemble, Constructed of cheap particle board, Over priced.
