Heart Supplement - Taurine for Dogs & Cats, 60 Capsules

I purchased the Fera Pets Cardiac Support for my 14.5 yr old Pekingese that was diagnosed with ACVIM Stage B1 disease. I like that it’s a clean formula, has the NASC quality seal, is made in the USA, GMP-compliant, and does not contain colors, dyes or preservatives. The organic Hawthorn berry along with the other ingredients is an added plus in my opinion. The capsules are easy to open and flow freely out of the capsule to easily mix into his food. He has only been taking it a few days and seems to be agreeing with him perfectly. I am really happy with the quality of the product and will buy again.

This is an amazing product! My dog is 14 years old, and used to weigh around 20 lbs. She developed symptoms of congested heart failure with bloated belly and shortness of breath. She could not walk and spent all day lying down for about two weeks. She didn’t eat much, and her ears got cold. I was mentally preparing for her departure. Then I found Fera Pets Cardiac Support. She began moving slowly on the second day, and started walking feebly on the third day. She began to eat more, and her breathing became more normal. On the fourth day, she definitely has more energy to walk around, and her ears got warmer. Fera Pets Cardiac Support gave life back to my dog.

I have two senior small dogs. Notice they have been developing some issues (coughing, not as active, sun sensitivity, etc.) related to getting older. Read about various products that might be good for adding vitamins and minerals to their daily diet. It’s only been a week sense I’ve started giving them the pills. Not sure if I’m actually seeing an improvement as of yet. However I will keep giving it to them and continue to monitor. Both dogs are very finicky eaters. So I have had to open the capsules and mask the powder by mixing it into their food.

I originally chose Fera Pets because it was a smaller, vet-founded company that seemed focused on quality, transparency, and pet health. Learning that Fera Pets was acquired by General Mills changed my confidence in the brand. (General Mills) I’m concerned that a company known for large-scale food production may eventually prioritize growth and profits over the qualities that made Fera appealing in the first place. I hope the formulas, sourcing, and commitment to transparency remain unchanged, but I personally prefer supporting independent pet supplement companies.

My dog has a heart mummer, he started having heaving breathing , walking slow, he was still eating , sleeping , and going to the bathroom normal. He is 12 and thought I was losing him. I didn’t want to bring him to the vet because that makes him even more nervous with anxiety, even with medication which I didn’t think it was a good idea to give at the time. I thought bringing him wound give him a heart attack for sure. Instead of making him go through all those tests, I decided to do some research on my own and this supplement taurine kept coming up. The reviews for this particular one sounded great so I decided to give it a try. Mind you he was coughing off and on also. So I did an overnight and started it right away. Also I sent a video to a client of mine who is an emergency vet and she told me with his breathing I should bring him to emergency right away. With his anxiety with that I just didn’t feel it was right, he wasn’t gasping for air and wasn’t in pain, like I said everything else was normal, if he wasn’t passing of heart failure that was going to be it, I wasn’t going to have him poked and prodded. We have now been on these for almost two weeks and little by little each symptom has gotten better. The last two days I haven’t heard him even cough. Buy this product, my thought was it can’t hurt , but it really did a miracle for my dog, my friend that is a vet could not even believe the results.

Works well

This supplement was recommended for my 16 year old cat's heart murmur. I mix the powder in his wet food, and so far he's not enjoying it. It's too soon to know if it's effective, but it's a step toward improved cardiac health. Fingers crossed.

I believe this stuff actually does work as two of my cats were coughing and I've been giving this to them for just over a month and there's no more coughing now

Capsule form is not very user friendly, it has been a struggle to give it to my dogs. I have tried many ways. They will not touch their food if I mix it in, they will regurgitate it if I put it in peanut butter or cheese. UPDATE: what an amazing company, they handled my return promptly and tried their best to ensure my satisfaction.

The ingredients seem appropriate for cardiac support, but the capsule is too large for a small dog, and the powder inside is sharp/bitter so she won't take it on food. So far I've got one into my chihuahua, so I'm not seeing the value. A capsule half this size would be better.
