One Piece, Vol. 59: The Death of Portgaz D. Ace: Volume 59

*wipes away tears* Okay.. *sniff* I'll start the review now. One Piece volume 59 contains chapters 574 to 584. It is rated T for teen (13+) due to fantasy violence and tobacco usage. If you are new to One Piece, start from volume 1. The war is finally over. And it ends with quite a bang! We see the return of many big named pirates including (as seen on the cover) Shanks and Blackbeard! One of the most interesting parts of the book was seeing everyone's reaction to the war ending. They all witnessed the world changing before their eyes. It seems like everything will become even more dangerous now that it's over. From chapter 383 a new mini-arc begins. This time we see some flashbacks of how Ace and Luffy met. It answers a lot of questions! 59 volumes and the pace isn't slowing down at all, the art is still incredible and even the new characters have unique designs. I don't know how Eiichiro Oda does it. In the next volume, we'll see what the other Straw Hats have been up to! I can't wait!

Best manga ever

when i began reading one piece and i immediately fell in love with shanks' character. he makes a return in this excellent volume of One Piece which makes this a must buy. i don't usually get in tuned with much of the emotion shown in manga, but this volume that all changed, it was the saddest experience i have experienced since jiraiya's death in naruto.

This volume has been the most shocking one for me in ONE PIECE because I never thought a character would die in the present time axis. Besides, the character who died wasn’t one, but two. Ace who’s been one of the most popular characters among ONE PIECE readers and Edward Newgate, known as Whitebeard, who’s depicted one of the four emperors and legendary pirates. When I read this shocking story in Weekly Shonen Jump. I was really surprised at the fact. Actually, as for Ace’s death, the subtitle showed the fact, and Odacchi isn’t that kind of person who puts the one as a joke , but I couldn’t still believe it. I thought he was going to come back from fatal condition in later chapters, but he has never been. As for the death of whitebeard, really unbelievable thing happened after his death, and that incident is for sure going to give us even more amazing stories later. His last standing figure was really great, and I think that’s one of the drawings Oddachi really wanted to show us in this paramount war arc. After the war’s over, Luffy’s in a mental problem, and with that difficult situation he never experienced before, the past story among Luffy, Ace and Sabo begins. The story shows us how Luffy and Ace formed their inextricable bond, and that one makes his death much more tragic one (Read this volume again after vol.60). I give 5 stars to show my highest respect for Ace and whitebeard’s death and the author, Odacchi’s top-level depiction as manga artist!!

The story was amazing and it came in perfect condition. Definitely recommend.
