Super cute set and the company was great at replacing a piece when we lost one. The pieces are tougher to get together and the instruction a bit detailed for the age suggested in the package. I would suggest 8+ for individual play. Any younger would need help. Will definitely buy more.

I gave this to my 5 year old grandson for Valentine's Day. He absolutely loves it. He plays with it for long periods of time. Great family time. His dad reads the book and then they put one together.

Very basic and fell apart easily when set in motion. My daughter is 7 and was excited to build her first robot. She was able to understand how to, so I appreciated the ease of the instructions, but it was almost too simple.

It was easy to assemble and my daughter loved it!

Homeschooling the grandkids this year and this kit will be perfect to introduce mechanical engineering. One thing I really like about this company is their workbooks that are included. This kit includes a cute storybook that features two young engineers, Ty and Karlie. They work with robotic animals at a robot pet shop. The manual includes detailed steps on how to assemble 8 different motorized models of robots. (an owl, French bulldog, sloth, panda, chameleon, cat, turtle, and rabbit) There is also a motor box that powers each robot; it requires 2 AA batteries (not included). A little disappointed in the “dancing chameleon”. It actually shakes, not really dance. Great little kit that’s fun to play with while my grandkids are actually learning.

This product was not easy to assemble. It was missing parts and was frustrating for the kids. The one that was completely built did not work.

Thames & Kosmos Kids First Robot Pet Shop was a great hit with the grandkids. They really enjoyed putting it together, and then playing with the little robot dog they constructed. They of course will take it apart and build some of the other options eventually, but everyone loves the dog right now, because "he's so cute!" I really like that there are so many building options. The only issue I had was with some of the directions. Those could be expanded a little bit and make it easier for the kids, so they wouldn't need adult help. The directions have to many steps in one picture frame, better to spread it out more like LEGO directions do in my opinion.

Got this for my son and he really enjoy putting together. I would give 5 stars, however, the battery lid doesn’t close well so battery kept falling out. Otherwise this is comparable to any of the Lego STEM toys
