desertcart.com: The Khmer Rouge: The Notorious History and Legacy of the Communist Regime That Ruled Cambodia in the 1970s (Audible Audio Edition): Charles River Editors, Colin Fluxman, Charles River Editors: Audible Books & Originals Review: History of Cambodia and Khmer Rouge - I definitely learned a lot about Cambodia that i never would have guessed. While i have read much about Vietnam in the 1960s-70s, so much on the region was unknown to me. Many of the factoids about the Khmer Rouge were known, i was unaware of Pol Pot's past. For a short read yet full of good information this would be a good read. Review: Good high level overview - If you're looking for a General high level overview of Cambodian political history, this is the book for you. It doesn't go into a ton of detail in the Khmer Rouge but is a great starting point for learning about the political climate of this part of southeast Asia.

A horrendous tragedy
I knew that the Khmer Rouge committed genocide but had no idea of the sheer brutality of those despotic rulers. It was frightening how a nation could go from civilized to terror and death so quickly and absolutely.

An interesting but short review of the Khmer Rouge in Cambodia. It can be read in an hour or two and provides a basic history of this troubled time
