really helpful tool for taming my extremely frizzy, curly hair
This contraption exceeded my expectations...I am never very happy with hair tools and I am quite pleased with this one. I got it to replace my Dafni brush, which had broken after 5 or 6 years of use, and on my hair, it works much better than the Dafni. I have frizzy, super-porous 3c curls that want to turn into a matted mess resembling cotton candy whether I've straightened it or let it dry curly, it gets so frizzy if it's humid at all or if I have to detangle it, it can't be reset curly without a shower, and it's hard to even use a flat iron...it just fluffs out of the thing. Straightening via blow-out, iron, or the Dafni brush just tends to make it look like a fluffy haystack. I found the Dafni to be essential for getting it in good enough order to then go in with a curling iron and make it look kindov wild and wavy, which is a look i actually prefer, but was variable in terms of success. My hair kindov fluffed out of the Dafni, even though I found that chasing it with a round blowout brush then clipping the sections in big pin-curls helped guide it through while cooling it down, smoothing it, and adding body. I definitely needed a new hot brush when it broke, and did a ton of research. I'm so glad I got this one! This Hot Tools device not only holds the hair better, but glides through much more easily. it makes my hair much smoother and shinier than the Dafni did, gives it some body, and it dosen't revert to frizz as easily. The roundness of it adds leverage to hold the hair tight across the barrel, and you can vary it based on how much you turn/wrap it (although I wouldn't wrap hair more than one time around, it can get tangled). I still chase it with the round brush and pin it up to create more of a wave pattern (and set/contain the section), which sounds awkward but is actually very easy to do, and keeps my hands away from the heat...I never use the gloves that come with these things. I find it much less awkward to use than the paddle-shaped Dafni, and is a much quicker process, even if it starts off as 100% frizz. I have a decent amount of layered hair that's pretty long, and I can do 5 or 6 sections including the bangs. It doesn't get super close to the root, but it does better than I thought it would, given the length of the bristles, and I can quickly touch parts of them up with a flat iron, which I like to do anyway to add some volume and texture. It's been really humid lately and it still works well. It has a bunch of different heat settings (I use it at 375 or 390) and although it does sometimes want to catch up hair from another section, that's really not as much as a problem as I worried it would be, given the girth of the thing. My hair is pretty grabby/tangly and it doesn't get caught in it unless I'm really careless. There was nothing wrong with the Dafni, I found it quite useful, and it broke in a typical way for hair tools (it seemed the power cord became detached inside the handle), but this one works much better for me. It is definitely heavier, but use goes so quickly, the weight hasn't bothered me, even though I have some arthritis in my wrists and hands. It's also about half the price...I hope it lasts somewhere near as long! I couldn't figure out the difference between this, and the more expensive "professional" version, but I'm happy enough with this one that I'm not really wondering anymore!

BUY IT
I was skeptical because i have no idea how to not tangle my hair in round brushes but this has made a world of difference in my hair. I have super thick coarse hair i recently joined the bob clan and i wanted a way to style my hair without using a straightener so i dont look like a karen and this sure helped it looks like o went to the salon and it takes me less than 30 mins to style it comes with a glove but i dont use it and have yet to burn myself since the top of it doesnt get hot i can hold onto it with no issues. 10/10 recommend exceeding all expectations

Best for 2nd day hair
I wanted a styling with out the hot air for dry dry look. This does that well, it doesn't straighten the like a flat iron but more a blow out with less frizz. I like this on second day hair when I want to comb out my wavy hair. This gets hot so start at a lower temp setting til you find your sweet spot.

Works great, wish they made it in a 1.5" round
This hot brush really works great; it leaves my hair soft, silky, shiny, and tangle free and is very quick and easy to use. My only complaint is that they should make the little "cool touch" holder end a bit longer - it's not really big enough to hold without easily burning your fingers. I wish they'd make the exact same item in a 1.5" and a 1" round (ideally one tool with two attachments) Otherwise, it gets EXTREMELY hot - seems to me that it must be hotter than the displayed temperature, but maybe my other tools are just nowhere near as hot as they claim to be. I normally need to put my heated irons/brushes up near 400 degrees, but I can get great results with this one around 300 degrees. Start lower than you think you need, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Doesn’t dry thick hair but smoothes already dried hair
I have a very thick, head full of hair so keep that in mind. I’ve tried different methods of using this. If you’re like me and have thick hair you’re going to have a very hard time drying it by using this alone. I let my hair air for about 30 minutes before I started drying it with this and it was near impossible. After 20 minutes I only had 2 very small pieces that were somewhat dry. I don’t want to say that it doesn’t work but for me I only use it once my hair is dried with the hair dryer then go over it with the hot brush to make it softer and shinier. It reminds of those tools you see on FB videos of girls with very thin hair that are trying to get lots of volume.Summary:Thick hair: works best to smooth already dried hair, lots of volume and shininess, not good for dryingThin hair: the heat gets pretty high so it probably would work well drying short, thin hair. Still gives you volume and shininess

Great for busy moms
My hair is naturally semi curly and fine. With an infant at home I don't always have time to blow dry my hair. Plus, the blow drier is loud. This tool is perfect for when my hair has dried naturally and I need to smooth it out. You can also add a curl on the ends. Make sure your hair is dry! This is NOT a blow dryer. Heats up fast! The tip of the brush does not get hot so you can use it for extra control. Use it in sections and your hair will look as though you blow dried it straight and with a curl/flip at the end. It doesn't add much volume on my hair but perhaps that is do to my hair type.

Buyer Beware! Got Stuck My Hair!
Just received this styler brush and was excited to use. I have thick hair that’s hard to style but thank God I lowered the setting from 410 to 350. I was sliding the brush through my hair and it seemed okay so I tried to curl my hair by rolling it up as I wrapped a small section of hair around the brush and that’s when my hair got stuck! I flipped out tried to lower the heat but ended up just pulling the plug from the wall. It took some pulling and I finally unwrapped my hair with minimal damage. I’m returning this product ASAP!!
