These connecting clips work well.
I like that these clips are secure and are quick to connect or disconnect without requiring sewing. . The size is perfect for 1” wide backpack straps. I use them on backpacks and as lightweight replacements for side release buckles.

50% larger than shown in the photo
These are much larger than specified in the picture. In the picture the 25mm is measured from the ends of the middle part. In reality the measurement for that same part is 1 7/16th inches which is going to be roughly 40mm.They look like they may work fine otherwise, just larger than advertised.
