XtremepowerUS Heavy Duty Bench Vise Clamp Tabletop Swivel Locking Steel Base (4")

I bought this little vise to bolt to the top of the side box on my Snap-on side box for small projects like holding small carburetors and small parts for drilling. It never did say where it was made on any of the parts or box, but once I opened it you could just smell the "china" in it. Oh well I thought, bolt it on and it works fine. When they say "Incredible clamping power" that means the screw is very fine. That also means you have to turn the handle many times to get it to open, no biggie, but then again it's hard to judge just how much pressure your exerting on said part in vise. Chunk of bar-stock, no biggie, irreplaceable carb off a old Honda motorcycle, be cautious. It'll work for now, but will probably look for something different when this one fails.

THE VISE WORKS OKAY , NOT OF HIGH QUALITY BUT WILL DO LIGHT TO MEDIUM JOBS. THE LOCKING SCREWS ARE HARD TO TURN , ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU WANT TO LOOSEN THEM. MAKE SURE YOU BUY COVERS FOR THE JAWS, OR IT WILL LEAVE IMPRINT ON WHATEVER IS IN JAWS (CROSS-CUT PATTERN)

Does what I needed, excellent price. Take the bad reviews with a grain of salt. For the Gunsmithing and light automotive work I do, this is perfect for the money.Update: broke the living feces out of this vise a WHILE back. I would definitely not recommend this for more than light duty use. And by broke, I mean BROKE.

I purchased this as a gift. However, I made the mistake of purchasing a couple of months in advance. The box it came in was undamaged, so I held on to it and then gave it as a gift. When my husband opened it up to install it a few weeks later, he found that the base was crack and that one of the bolt holes was totally broken off. We can't mount the vise to anything. Since it has been just under three months, the seller won't take it back. I'm sitting with a very heavy, but useless piece of metal now. If you buy this thing...make sure to open it and ensure that it is not busted.
