Do i need shure blx1 bodypack transmitter, h9 for this mic?

Whichever system/components you choose, you will need to ensure all components have matching frequency bands in order to use. The BLX2 handheld microphone itself is the transmitter so you will not need the BLX1 body pack transmitter. The BLX1 is only for headsets and lavaliers.

Does it come with a hard case or can one be purchased seperately?

The rackmount set doesnt come with a case, just in a box and the case is expensive seperately. If you buy the normal one you get it in a zipper case

will a H9 transmitter work with my H8 receiver?

Nope. Each has a set range and they must match.
