Great sourdough starter jar.
Great size for sourdough starter. Well-fitted lid, and easy to mark height of sponge with a wipe off marker. Exactly what I needed.

Editing my review today-October 2. Second red 58 Oz crock with lid arrived. It's still cheerful, shiny and good size for small counter tops. Second crock also has an imperfection on the outside. It is minor and I can hide it, but buyers should know these crocks have imperfections.

Using it for my sour dough starter
I had an ugly old plastic kimchi container which worked fine, but after several years, thought it was time for a new home.Remove and toss the silicon gasket. You now have the perfect container to store several hundred grams of starter.Very pleased with it.

This is my new home for my sourdough starter.
I was looking for a crock like vessel with a lid for my sourdough starter that rest in the refrigerator. This was a perfect find by my lovely wife. When I am ready to make bread, I just sit it on the counter to warm up and the next day, we make sour dough bread. Great home for my starter.

Very nice cookie jar. No, it is not very large, but good for two people as I usually freeze my cookies and only take out a few at a time as needed. Not for big families or big Christmas bakes, but great for every day use. Looks good. Lid fits well and keeps cookies fresh.

Not As Big As Lead to Belive
Not going to hold 58oz, not even close. Would only about 1/2 of my 38 oz. can of coffee. The picture showing this canister being held in front of a person is misleading. The actual size is slightly smaller than a 38oz. container of coffee, as shown. I'm going to keep it because I like the style however.
