I am an xl... bought a 3xl and it didnt even come close to zipping it up. What size should i buy?

Unsure of how what to say, so I will do my best. The vest itself is suppose to fit snug. The idea is sweating under the vest. I am a large size and that's the size I bought. Maybe reachout to customer service and they may have a custom fitting solution.
