Just what I was looking for. Very informative and worth every penny

Very interesting book for the Winchester ammo specialist collector. Note that it covers ONLY centerfire metallics, and says virtually nothing about rimfires (except for the early .44 Henry Flat, etc.) or shotshells. This is not a historical volume about Winchester or Winchester guns, but mainly a well-organized effort to show chronologically photographs of what the various cartridge boxes look like. The book's title is exactly what it covers, so if you are looking for more, you won't find it here. I can't say I agree with much of the pricing information presented, but that's true of price guides covering everything else also.

Very cool book on the antique cartridge boxes. I wish it provided all boxes other than just Winchester brand and include .22 ammo but that would make it into a several volume set...oh wait that is a great idea!

Recommend this book highly. Those of you who are looking for detailed history concerning Winchester Cartridges and Weapons they were used in, this is definitely the book for you. Unbelieveable detail, presented in and easy to follow format. High Quality book and one that will bring countless hours of satisfaction reading and reading again. Hats off to the authors for a job more than well done.MHD

Excellent information front to back a must cartridge book to own.

If you are a serious cartridge collector, it is a "must have!" Now if only someone would write one on Remington UMC!

Interested parties beware! This book does not cover .22 and shotgun ammo boxes. The Amazon description doesn't tell you this and the title is a bit misleading. Otherwise the book is very well done and worth the money to any serious collector.

I got it as a gift for my husband and he was thrilled with it.
