Kirschbaum Reel Synthetic Gut Tennis String

I have been stringing friends and my rackets with this for roughly 6 months and am now ready to give a 5 star rating. We are a "just for fun" group ranging from 3.0 to 4.5 players, and for this price I don't think there is a better option (at least not that we have found). No we are playing in tournaments or anything, but just hit among each other few times a week this string has been awesome. Some of the group has a full bed of this, while others have a hybrid with poly in the mains. It's really poor at low tensions. It feels like it completely loses control at 40 lbs. or lower, and doesn't produce any power at all. It also doesn't feel like you're pocketing well, no matter how hard you try to dial in the sweet spot. At 55 plus, it works the way a cheap syn gut should, and should be playable for a few sets, depending on how hard you hit and how much spin you put on it.You might also want to pre-stretch it before you string up a racket. That will help with tension loss and prevent it from feeling uncontrollable.

You have to have realistic expectations when buying synthetic gut for less than $40. Its not gonna play like a multi or natural gut. Once you understand that, this string will serve you just fine, especially if you string your own frames. People often disclaim string due to their rapid loss 0f "playability and resiliency". Nothing plays better than fresh new crisp strings. At this price, you can restring your frames every few hours and still save money. Good luck.

I have strung hundreds of rackets and I have never had this happen repeatedly. I have only tried to put this on two rackets as crosses at 56lbs. In both cases the string broke after doing 5-6 cross passes. Very frustrating.

THE WORST STRING OF ALL TIME! I've been playing tennis for 20 years and this is the worst string I've ever played. It doesn't have a good feel at all and I literally broke 1 string in 15 minutes and another one in 20. Don't buy this!

Use it for Hybrid with up to 55lbs.(CS). Nothing negative to say until now. It's cheap and holds up pretty good.

Strung my racquet with these strings a couple of days ago. Played with them twice already. So far so good! They feel very much like Prince or Wilson synthetic gut, except at a fraction of the cost. Great value for the money. I can also say that they are very easy to string with. Some strings are very hard and get easily tangled when stringing racquets, but these were very smooth and effortless to install.

Wow, very happy with these strings so far. Will probable last me for a very long time with this reel.Have someone do my stringing with these strings at a nice tension.Feels good hitting ball off the racket.Hoping they last for a while.NOTE: So far 1 year later and 1st stringing are still intact with still good tension on 2 rackets.
