Are these really dishwasher safe? Has anyone been washing theirs in a dishwasher?

I only hand wash them. They do seem durable enough to go in dishwasher, though. They have a lacquer like coating. I just would be concerned that any type of chopsticks would slip through the holes of the silverware compartment of my dishwasher due to the size of the holes in the basket.

They are made of wood but the the kind of wood I am not entirely sure of.

Google translate says Japanese language with the words "bashi wood" and "chopsticks" plus a few adjectives but no "Made in Japan" on the box. So not a positive yes.
