Can you make inline spinners with this tool?

Yes! But an “EZ twist” which can be mounted in a Scotty rod holder on a bench or boat is so much easier…. The Du bro is great for being “In the field” on a moving boat…. “Bring your needle nose and a cutting dyke!

Is this plastic or metal?

The tip is plastic. The other part is metal.

Is the head supposed to spin independently from the body? I just received this yesterday. The top and bottom pieces are in a fixed position.

It rotates just enough to lock the wire inside while you are twisting. When you finish you rotate it to the open position and remove the wire.

Will this work for larger wire #18 and #19

#19 single strand is .043 this tool is to small for 400#. They advertise for muskie to marlin but I don't thing anyone is brave enough to use wire that small for marlin.
