The CUCKOO CRP-RT0609FW has completely changed how I cook rice and meals. The twin-pressure feature gave me the ability to pick high or soft pressure depending on what I was making. I purchased this rice cooker a year ago, and I can confidently say it’s one of the best kitchen investments I’ve ever made. The rice comes out perfect every single time. The rice is fluffy, evenly cooked, and absolutely delicious. What I really love about it is how versatile and easy to use it is. I’ve used it to make porridge, steam veggies, and even try a few experimental recipes. Love the design and color plus it still looks and works like new, even after a year of regular use. If you have high standards for rice, especially from growing up eating it daily, this rice cooker will meet (and exceed) your expectations!

If I am being completely honest, this purchase was made mostly for its aesthetics. It looks fantastic on my counter and matches my kitchen. But once I started using it, I haven’t stopped looking for reasons to keep using it. Not only does it look great, it is fun to use with its integrated voice commands, and jingles, but it makes fantasticrice! And will make your rice in multiple ways and at different speeds depending on your timeframe. I have used it several times in the morning to make oatmeal and it does a fantastic job at both Traditional and steel cut. I have not found anything wrong with it or anything I would change. There are much less expensive rice cookers available, but when you open this and start using it, you will immediately appreciate the quality and fit and finish that was put into creating it. It is an appliance that I am proud to leave on my counter and I know that it will last for many years.

First, these cook rice to the satisfaction of the Korean consumers, who prefer really plump, hard rice, unlike people who eat long grain rice or the Japanese consumers who prefer softer fluffy rice. Furthermore, Korean pressure rice cookers cook at a higher pressure and higher temperature than other pressure cookers such as Instant Pot. That's the reason most Korean households primarily use pressure rice cookers. On the other hand, pressure rice cookers are non-existent in Japan. So, if you prefer your medium grain or short grain rice cooked in Japanese style, this is not for you. I bought this to replace one that is about 15 years old. The voice thingy has become very talkative. It used to only say what's necessary, but now it just keeps on talking. It's good that one can turn it off. The font/words for the buttons are very light, which makes them very difficult to see. Compared to 15 years ago, the options to tweak the cooking parameters is much easier, such as keep warm temperature, degree of browning on the bottom, change language and the volume and some other functions. I don't really see anyone would need to deviate from the default program, but if you want, there they are. Also, because of voice instructions, it's easy to personalize the rice cooker. Other than that, it's a Cuckoo rice cooker. Some complain that it's too big. Yes, it is little bigger than the Japanese brands. But one needs to remember that this is a pressure cooker, which means it gets hotter, so there should be more insulation material between the outer wall and the cooking pot. Also, the primary target market is Korea, where the rice cooker sits on the kitchen counter and is never put away. So, storage convenience was not really on their mind when the designed them. If you want a Korean rice cooker, Cuckoo is the one to get. Not only is it the best-selling brand in Korea, but consumable parts such as the pressure seal rings are easier to find.

I bought the Cuckoo CRP-RT0609FB - 6 Cups, Twin Pressure Rice Cooker & Warmer specifically for brown rice. The Cuckoo arrived, I used the instructions in the manual to quickly change the vocal prompts to English, put it through the self-clean cycle, loaded two cups of mixed brown and red rice, added water to the line marked two under GABA Rice, closed the lid, turned the knob to PRESSURE, the Cuckoo prompted me to choose a pre-set, so I chose GABA/PRESSURE. 40 minutes later, the Cuckoo announced the rice was finished cooking. I opened the Cuckoo to find perfectly cooked brown/red rice. The Cuckoo automatically went into KEEP WARM mode. The first batch was just a test. Over the next 48 hours, my wife and I sampled a little here and there until we'd eaten it all. After 48 hours, if anything, the rice seemed even better than when first cooked. Took the pot out of the Cuckoo and worried for a moment about how difficult it might be to clean after keeping rice warm for 48 hours. I needn't have worried. A splash of water and a quick sponge and the pot was perfectly clean. The non-stick coating works really well. I don't know how long one can hold rice in the KEEP WARM mode, but 48 hours was certainly not a problem. Perfect brown/red rice in 40 minutes, 48 hours in KEEP WARM and it still tasted great and the pot was a breeze to clean. I am extremely happy with my purchase! I know this multi-cooker can do a whole bunch of other things and I'm looking forward to exploring, but to me, everything else is just a bonus.

It features high-pressure, no-pressure, and rapid modes, also good for a family of three. But when you open the lid, the front bottom bounds. Just gently opening the lid should resolve the issue.

This rice cooker does an amazing job on the 2 types of rice I used, Basamati and Jasmine Brown rice. I tried both modes, pressure cook and non pressure cook. Both do excellent results however I have settled into non pressure as a preference. Cleanup is a breeze, however following instructions is important to prevent damage to the rice cooking inner pot. This is an ideal size for 1 to 3 people. Left over rice reheats well for later use. I am pleased with this purchase and highly recommend this brand and size.
