Good quality and holds compound well
This strop is good quality consistent leather with no irregularities. It hold polishing compound well.

Perfect strop for mounting to a piece of wood.
This leather strop is exactly what I needed to be able to strop my plane irons, chisels, and kitchen knives. I simply glued this piece of leather to a piece of mahogany board using 2x3g Gorilla Super Glue . This allows me to strop any item I want. I can put the block of wood in my vise and strop away. All I had to do was charge it with a stropping compound and it works great. I have included pictures of edges that I was able to produce using my sharpening plates and this strop. You can see dimensions in the photos I have uploaded. Pros: *Glues well to a board *Great surface for stropping *Nice amount of surface area to strop on Cons: *None Additional Considerations: Be aware, when you order this strop you are simply getting the leather only. All of my pictures show it mounted to a block of wood because I glued it to that block of wood. That will not come with the purchase. Overall: 5/5 stars (>=.5 rounds up, <.5 rounds down) => 5 stars If you have any further questions regarding the product in my review please leave a comment below and I will get back to you as soon as possible.

Nice thick leather, just the right density . . .
Bought three of these for different compound grades. I glued them all on a board for ease of storage and use, but you don't really need to do that. Would be 5-stars, but one of them has a pretty bad crease across it. Not enough to send it back, but enough to lose a star. Still highly recommended.

it just works
Not much to say, its big enough for big blades, and the right hardness for my honing style

Probably should not buy this brand.
I've never bought a strop before, but I feel it should be flat. This was not flat. I bathed it in oil, heated it up, and have set heavy weights on top of it, and several weeks later it is a little flatter, but it refuses to flatten out completely.

Very serviceable leather strop, with your favorite compound
This is a decent strop, clean, thick leather ready to be glued to a piece of wood. I glued the smooth side down using gorilla glue to a piece of scrap pine 2x4, which I then shaped into a paddle with my hatchet. It works very well with some stropping compound on everything from my pocket knife to my axes. It can but cut to a narrower shape if you need to (good for curved blades or small knives), if you have a sharp knife, or you can use it as-is, as I did, if you want to be able to use it with large axe and hatchet heads. I've used an old leather belt in the past as well, and while this works just as well it is much wider and therefore more useful for what I needed.

Decent leather, slicks quickly and is a little thin, but works alright
Top grain of leather with the very rough sliced grain on the backside. No tanner makes this nice for loading green compound into, although either this leather or my compound is being finicky because this leather slicks almost immediately, meaning I have to clean it more often than I like. The thickness of the leather is questionable, and I'd like something a mil or so thicker to get a better mushroom around my blades as I'm stropping them, but that isn't the product on offer, so no reduction for that. If you're new to stropping, buy two. You're going to cut the heck out of the first one on accident.

Great Product
I don't understand the negative reviews for this product. The leather is great quality for its intended use and the perfect size for stropping a medium or even large size blade. I purchased this with Woodstock D2902 1-Pound Extra Fine Buffing Compound, Green and has worked very well to bring my knives to a mirror finish and a razor sharp edge. Its a good quality piece of leather and works very well. I'd be quick to recommend this to a friend.

I bought this with the Trend Diamond Stone and as a complete system it makes this novice woodworker look like an expert after the first sharpening attempt. What a moment of joy it was when my old chisel that I was practising on actually did the paper cut thing. And in the middle of the current pandemic I was surprised at how reasonably quickly I received it here in Australia from America - well done to all those involved
