The Perfect Tool. Worked Great!!
If you have to remove rockers or a cam from a Ford 5.4l only this tool will do and this tool did great.

It just works!
This tool finally did the trick! After purchasing and returning 2 other cheaper versions (only about half the price of this one) this one works perfectly without any modifications on my 2010 F150 5.4L 3V engine. Was able to easily remove and replace the roller followers with ease. One thing to keep in mind while compressing the springs (and not a fault of the too) is to keep some finger pressure on the valve stem so the keepers don't pop out while compressing. That would make for a really bad day if the valve dropped into the cylinder!!! Thanks OEM Tools for a great product!

Not for everyone.
45 years as a mechanic and I thought this would make the job easier. Worked well on the first 4 valves on the passenger side. The clearances for the back 6 valves was too close to get the tool in and start the threads. The flaw is to start the thumb wheel you need more wiggle room. I could not get the arm with threads and the thumb wheel onto the brace unless they were separated. Then to get the first threads started it was very tight. Next to the ac box there just was not enough room. I ended up lossening the cam blocks instead. Definitely not the recommended procedure. When I went to do the drivers side the tool spun on the first valve. Again I had to pull the cam blocks just to get the tool out. The threaded part on the arm has a smooth surface meant to lock it in place so you can screw the thumb wheel to tighten. The clearance is too loose and the flat spot turned and jammed the tool. Not a wasted tool. It would be very nice if the motor was on a stand, but inside the truck there is just not enough room to use this on all the valve springs.

You need this to change cam followers.
This is difficult to use since you can't see the valve spring. It all has to be done by feel. Almost impossible to do without the tool.

Well Made, Works Great
I was a bit unsure about this tool after reading a few reviews, but I did not have a single problem removing any rocker arms for my Ford 5.4 engine. I doubt that anybody giving this a poor review is most likely not using it properly, or have their cams in the correct position. Lots of youtube video on how to use it, and how to have your cams positioned correctly. This tool is just as good as the OTC brand which has been out of stock everywhere, and save yourself a hundred bucks. By the way, use a sturdy rod or stick to hold the rocker arm down when using the tool instead of your finger, much easier. I also used a retractable magnet to get all the rocker arms out easily.

Not Manufactured correctly.
This tool is poorly made in regards to the angle. the forks are too low and could not make it work. Hade to but one from Aries tools.

Worked Great on 2009 Ford 5.4L 3V Engine
I was looking to buy the OTC tool for this after reading how so many others broke this tool while using. However there were enough positive reviews that I decided to try and save some money so I took a chance on this brand of tool. I am very glad that I did. After removing and installing the roller followers 30 times (6 removal and 24 install) you learn what feels correct and what doesn't. Above all, be patient! This is a tedious process. Be careful to have the tool positioned correctly on the valve spring and in the correct pocket of the cylinder head for the valve spring to be pushed down. It is extremely easy for the tool to catch on the side of a cylinder head bolt boss and hang up. If you keep tightening it, this is when I think these tools can break. When positioned correctly, the amount of twisting force you put on the knob will feel the same for all valves. It if feels tight, then stop and figure out where it is hanging up. An inspection mirror will be extremely helpful to make sure the follower is put back in the proper position. Three times during this process, I didn't have the follower in the correct position and released the valve spring only to discover that I had to do it again on that valve to get the follower in the correct place. Other than that, don't hesitate to buy this tool over the other more expensive brand. It works!

I haven’t used it for the project ahead, but looks solid and clean no burrs. I will rewrite a new review once I use for the project. I finally got around to using this tool and it work well on my 2010 f150 5.4 3V, it was a little tricky to get used to it but after doing a few valves it got easier. Great tool to have available.

Worked perfectly. Did the head gaskets on my 2003 Ford Ranger 4.0L. Removed and installed all rollers/followers without any issue

Product works great. For the others below that had issues. This is for a 4.6 or 5.4 2V SOHC motor, they also provide one for the DOHC motors and the 3V. You will however require this tool plus the DOHC tool when working on the 32V’s as one side will not allow you the proper amount of room to compress the spring safIey. Lastly I have never attempted to use them on any other engines only the one it’s listed for. Mine works great without issues and hasn’t broken yet, I had my previous one get taken from my tool box and not return so I needed to replace it.

This tool was relatively easy to use and the fork was strong enough to push down the valves without bending so long as you centered the tool correctly. This spring compressor did a great job with my 5.4l 3v.
