Good pairing for laser cutter air assist
I got this to use in conjunction with my K40 laser cutter as the air driver for an air assist nozzle. It puts out a lot of air - more than enough to keep the nozzle clear and to keep things from flaming up on the bed. Things I like: - The air splitter it comes with is metal and the valves work reasonably well, so you can change the air output easily without worrying about breaking things - Puts out a lot of air - Seems ok so far in continuous operation for multiple hours Things to be aware of: - If you turn it on without having the air hose connected, it's really loud. With the air hose connected it's still fairly loud and I wouldn't recommend it for indoor use in a place where noise might be an issue. I'm using it in a garage so it's not a problem at all. Be sure to place it properly on its rubber feet as well or else it will vibrate whatever it's on quite a lot. - As others have noted, it does get hot during operation, so be sure you have some ventilation for it.

Fully pleased after finding trick to make it much quieter
tl; dr: pleased with pump, came with metal 6-valve air tap, only 15 watts when connected to air stones, *much* quieter with long hose connected to air *inlet* to move sound away from pump. We just set up a small garden pond and after a week or so green moss started forming on the rocks and the water got cloudy. Aeration was a common cure so we ordered this pump, some tubing, and air stones. I had never used an air pump or done a pond, and was concerned this would be noisy, but didn't want to get a smaller type of pump because I wanted a lot of aeration and didn't want to do regular diaphragm replacement as the smaller ones require. Plugging it in for the first time inside, with nothing connected, my heart sunk as it was very loud. It also measured around 25 watts on my Kill-A-Watt meter, even though it's advertised as only 18 watts. It turns out that this is the wrong way to evaluate it. With hoses and air stones connected it only uses 15 watts, and is quieter. I placed it outside next to the pond and it filled it with bubbles, and caused lots of circulation as well. It came with a nice metal 6-valve tap, and I was only using three of them (two air stones, and one bare air tube with its valve turned down). The pump was still somewhat noisy though. I noticed the air inlet and read about the noise coming from that, so I connected it to an old garden hose (no water in it) so that it drew air from the end of the hose that was far away, and the pump became almost silent! I was pleased that this last nagging issue had been solved, and my concern over the noise put to rest. Unfortunately it didn't make any change in our pond's green moss growth situation, but definitely not because the pump has any shortcomings. This is one reason I got a powerful pump, so that if the moss didn't reduce, I would know for sure that it wasn't due to a lack of aeration. We only ran this for a few weeks (24 hours a day in Texas summer) so I can't say much about its long-term reliability. Zero problems during our use of it.

It came with a very nice heavy duty manifold (which was a pleasant surprise) and ...
************************************************UPDATE**************************************************** I decided not to go through the hassle of returning this pump and give it another chance and ended up bumping it to four stars. I realize that when it conked on me we were having severely hot weather. It's been running just fine now and puts out a good amount of air, I haven't check the liter flow lately but it seems to be working fine. The key to this pump is to shut it down on extremely hot days and it will probably work fine for years. It's a good buy for the money. I was all set to write a rave review for this air pump! It came with a very nice heavy duty manifold (which was a pleasant surprise) and appears to be well made...and the price is very reasonable. When I first plugged it in, I was blown away at the amount of air it produced and when I put the liter flow gauge to it...I was even more impressed! I mounted it to a nice piece of wood then found the ideal place to keep it near my pond, I plugged in 2- 5" stones and all was great! Then about an hour later, I was walking by the pond and I noticed one of the stones wasn't producing any air and the other was very slow. So I reached down to pick up the pump and it was hot enough to burn my hand. I unplugged and took it in the house and let it cool down. After about 30 minutes I plugged it back in and ran the flow meter and it was running about 19 LPM (about half of what I had before) I checked the intake to make sure nothing had gotten in there but it was clean. I have it running in my pond again at the moment but I'm sending this thing back. If it conks after only an hour it will leave me high and dry somewhere down the road. Apparently this type pump has a poor track record of overheating so...I'm going to have to find something different. I loved this pump...for about an hour...so sad!

Great product after a year-and-a-half!!! Multiple units performed as expected. No issues.
I waited a long time before writing a review, about a year-and-a-half now has passed. I have just purchased my 7th unit. All are still running perfectly fine as brand new. I am very happy with this product and have had no issues at all. I am very pleased with the power and the ability of this size unit to effectively run 6 Airlines seemingly effortlessly. I use it for Sponge Filter setups on indoor aquariums with an ambient temperature around 76ยฐ give or take. As for people complaining about noise or longevity I would challenge that by saying of course it's not going to be the quietest pump but it is not obnoxious. I cut the vibration down by putting a thick cardboard square underneath it. Yes they run warm but if all vents are half to three-quarters of the way open it maintains a reasonable temperature. I have invertebrates in my tanks and I like that the nozzle is brass and not copper which is toxic to all invertebrates over time... I would recommend this to anyone who is running multiple tanks indoors. Hope this helps with your decision. That's why I wrote this review. Great product!!! Great bang for the buck!!!

Powerful
I bought this for my koi pond, the heat here in the summer is pretty intense and I felt the fish would benefit from some extra oxygen! I first tested it inside. When I turned it on it sounded like a freight train! Of course my first thought was this is not going to be good!! However once I got it all installed outside the noise was minimal. Between the filter, the water falls, the birds singing etc you could not hear it. It really is powerful and my fish love it, they love hanging out in all the bubbles. The air stone is 6 inches in diameter and works very well.IT DOES NOT COME WITH THE AIR STONE YOU MUST PURCHASE THE STONE SEPARATELY. I purchased a small plastic container melted a hole for the tubing and another for the power cord and enclosed the pump inside the container so it will not become wet. It also comes with a bar that has 5 ports on it so you can hook up several air stones at at time if you wish. Highly recommend

This thing is ripping! Great airflow!
I'm using this for about 2200 gallons. My fish are hibernating in extremely well oxygenated water. I ended up just using 4 instead of 6 because it pushes so much air that my 3.5ft pond is getting bubbles everywhere. I had a different kind that needed 6 and still had still water areas. This thing really pushes some air through. It's a slight hum, but this is an outdoor pond and I hardly can hear it. I have to walk to the pump house to make sure it is on. And it's much more affordable that the other brand we had. Our old one had a know that turned it all the way up or down and we had to have it on max all the time, so for us, this one not having that feature is actually nice because you can't accidentally bump it and turn the air flow down. I highly recommend this for fellow fish pond owners. My fish are all happily hiding in their rocks instead of trying to hibernate near the diffusers. Huge yay!

1 year still working...very nice economy pump.
high flow , low watt draw. Pump body ran a bit hot, so i added a basic 80mm fan, it barely gets warm now...barely. added a small 2 inch diameter canister fuel filter to muffle the intake, its now almost silent. No real complaint other then it should come with an intake muffler, and a cooling fan, the only faults it has IMHO. Also, DONT run pump 100% wide open, it likes a bit of back pressure on the output side . ( You'll hear it settle down when you close the valves a bit, and howl, vibrate when run wide open. ) That's because the pump diaphragm is overworking and colliding with itself, imagine a flag in a windstorm slapping and popping ! Now you see !!! :)

Hit or miss.
I have a 15k gallon koi pond which need aeration in the winter. The pond is 4ft deep and the top half is using frozen solid. I've tried a couple of air pump from Aquascape, but the output was very very weak and any stone deeper than 2ft just gets a trickle of air. And none, NONE, last an entire year. I've ran this Ecoplus now for a week. At only 18W, electricity use is a tiny bit higher than the Aquascape, but still very low. It's a bit louder, but since I have it outdoors, I don't care. It's not loud enough to be heard from the inside. I use a large air stone sold Hydrofarm ASCL Large Active Aqua Air Stone Cylinder placed at 3 ft depth, on a 20ft air line. It's the only air stone I have on this pump. It works fantastic. Bubble output is impressive. Almost like boiling water. I have no doubt I could have placed the stone at 4-5 ft and have no problem. So far I like it. Not sure how long it last, but I'm just hoping to get through the winter. FYI - the pump is solid and heavy, about 2 lbs I'd say. It comes with one outlet that is 1/2 inch. A hose is included from this outlet to the distributer valve. The valve is of good quality. Chrome plated steel. 6 outlets with individual shut offs. Each of these 6 outlets takes the typical 1/4 inch aquarium tubing. Just an update: This pump has ran continuously for about a year now. No problems. From -15'F to 90'F and it keeps going. That's way more than I expected. Update: The original pump works great. I bought a 1030 GPH pump. It was doing pretty light duty but died in 10 minutes. Since Amazon doesn't allow me to review the 2 pumps separately, I'll lower the overall rating from 5 to 3 stars.

Yes it's loud , , , because it works!
For the other reviewers, , yes this pump is louder than most. But you need to remember, it's a 3,000 lph commercial grade diaphragm pump, it's not gonna just humm. This isn't your little 20 gallon aquarium grade puffer. This thing moves serious amounts of air! I plumbed the air tip into the outlet pipe of my koi pond's "winter" pump to disperse the bubbles. It works amazingly so far! I will see how long it lasts under 24/7 use. May buy another just for a spare.

Good air pump for sure.
It's a good little pump for sure. Puts out a ton of air. Using for a pond outside, powers two 4 inch pucks easy! It is a bit loud though. Can't imagine having it my house but I suppose you could do something about the noise. Works really well, especially for the money.

Great if you're okay with a humming
Not very quiet, mine came (used, cheaper) with a piece of cardboard clogging the air outlet. I eventually managed to get it out using some very narrow tweezers I got with a soldering kit - it's probably why the item was returned in the first place. Worth it for my $10 discount, and not going to take a star away for it. Pump works very well, though it's certainly not quiet. If stealth is your main concern, this is not your best choice. I don't have a db rating but it's about as loud as a soft talking volume level. It's a powerful little thing, though!
