J-328 MINI Portable FM Pocket Radio

The five stars is for functionality. I wouldn't compare it to a five star high-end radio, but for what it is, for what it does, for what it costs, it is great.My husband, 85, was in a rehab unit recovering from a repaired broken hip. He wasn't doing well and he really needed something to get grounded. He listens to our local NPR every morning and he needed that. The rehab unit was just sort of ignoring him and treating him like he was going to be a permanent patient – he wasn't I got him home and he's doing great. But this really helped with his rehab because part of it is getting his brain working after a devastating surgery on top of chemo. The red is perfect because it minimize his loss in a massive hospital sheets, and I clipped it onto a badge holder so he could have it around his neck or wrap it around the bed's siderails. The sound was fairly crisp and clear, and the Battery Life was just great. I even took in a set of over the ear headphones because his hearing is terrible. It would last all day and then I would recharge it the next day when I went in.I had originally tried a "better" radio but he just couldn't figure out the digital display and push buttons. This is a straightforward on-off switch and I had preset it to 88.5 so he didn't have to fiddle with that. All he had to do was switch it on and off. And the volume is a dial. Very low tech for him.Even without the headphones, it had decent volume and sound clarity. We didn't try it with music, we only wanted it for NPR.

Purchased this a year ago.A lot of reviews for products on Amazon, are comparing Product A to a higher priced Product B. But this is a $10 dollar radio. That needs to be remembered. Not a $100 dollar radio.So for this price point, it seems like a great radio.For this price, it is very good. Feels solid, and looks great.The sound seems very good. There is no Bass or Treble adjustment. This radio does have a volume control wheel, which is more handy than button adjustment. A nice feature.This is also a FM ONLY radio. It does that job well.I actually bought it for it's ability to record FM radio. The included instructions are ok, could be better, but most of the radio is intuitive.For recording, it seems to do that fine. No adjustments for bit rate. But the audio is clear.I am using it to record my SiriusXM Home Radio. I use a FM broadcaster (bought off of Amazon.com), then I use this little radio to record the SiriusXM. Seems to work well.Finally, in the product answers to questions (here on Amazon) it states that the TF CARD limit is a 32GB card. But I inserted a 64GB TF Card that was laying around the house, formatted it for Fat32 and it seems to be working. We will see. Well, I did have some problems and put in a 32 GB card, as per instructions.The Radio will also play mp3 files. So you can use it as an inexpensive mp3 player.The radio is small. One interesting design, is the FM radio Antenna is actually the "carry strap".Really for the money, its a great value. FM Radio, MP3 Player, Radio Recorder, and it appears, also a voice and sound recorder (haven't verified that yet).The volume can be set very loud. I have updated this a year after the purchase. I still love it. It is a great radio recorder. That is mainly what I use it for. To record Radio. Christmas Music, Talk Shows, News, and my XM Radio Receiver programs. Seems to me, every rating for this product ought to be a 5 star!If you want a little FM Radio or MP3 player, with FM Recorder (there are not many of those around for this price) for under 20 Bucks, this seems to be a great deal.I plan on using it to record favorite programs for listening to later.I think it is a good value for the money.

For its very low price, the Prunos J-328 is a nice MP3 player. What is a real strength is its good sound which I find very impressive. Its 32GB micro SD card is ample storage. This inexpensive player is a real bargain.

I wanted to get a little radio to provide backup information in case of a power failure. This is an inexpensive and very high quality unit, sounds great. One of these days I'll have to load some music onto it.

Perfect size for travel. We needed an FM receiver to hear English simultaneously for a foreign language conference. It works beautifully. Also has a recorder, great for learning pronunciation of words in other languages and an MP3 player. So much in a pretty little package. Great battery life and rechargeable from my backup battery or any USB plug. Money very well spent.

This red radio is awsome. This is a very light weight radio, I can put it in my hat and listen as I walk. I can put on bike helmet chin strap on my bike helmet next to my ear. I can listen to radio talk shows. I can quickly jump to channel or radio station I want by typing the freq number in an instant. The antenna is very strong as does not break and gives great reception. I have dropped it in bathtub for 3 seconds a year ago and it still works the same as day 1. I have had this radio 2 years, I have tried OTHER RADIOS but they are hard to carry to heavy bulky to carry in my hat, stiff antenna Breaks off when I try to carry in my pocket. Radios don't have keypad so I spend 5 mintrying to get to my radio station, very frustrating. I REALLY LIKE DURABILITY AND EASE OF USE. The battery lasts long time too all day.

Not quality sound through earbuds. Hoping to get some good sounding loud music while mowing the lawn. Not even close, good reception though. You get what you pay for.

This little portable radio has some positives worth mentioning. The channel receptions are really good due to the lanyard antenna. The digital display is quite legible. However, it also has some shortcomings.For one, one cannot manually store stations into the memory. So as it scans for stations, it decides which stations to store. As a result, it ends up storing a bunch of stations that are just statics. It does so because so because the signals are strong. The frustrating part is that I cannot change them.I use a Sony MX- 4 headset with this radio. This headset sounds awesome when connected to most sound sources. However, when connected to this radio, the sound is flat and anemic.The other thing is that the manufacturer could have added a belt clip to the back of the device to facilitate portability. In fact, I would have preferred a version with the belt clip instead of the speaker.

A beautiful small radio, recorder, and mp3 player. Arrived 1 day ahead of schedule. I really love it!Pros:1. The stereo speakers are loud and clear and are great for playing MP3 music.2. Easy to use. I barely had to look at the manual to figure it out.3. Right portable size for indoor or outdoor use. Either hold in hand or put in the pocket, or even hang on the kitchen cabinet nob while cooking.4. Voice recording anytime, anywhere is perfect for anyone's memo-taking, writer, or songwriter.5. Will recognize TF card (micro SD) up to 64GB. (Though manufacturer says accept maximum 32GB).Cons:1. Radio signals reception is not as good as I expected. Only 7 out of 20 scanned radio stations are super clear.2. Lack of battery monitoring in led screen.3. Lack of Bluetooth for wireless.Overall, this is a very good product to own at an inexpensive price. I hope the next version will improve the radio quality and include in a wireless option.
