They seem excellent to me
I mainly bought these for astronomy because they were recommended in The Backyard Astronomer's Guide. I’m not a huge bino guy but these are definitely the best binos I’ve ever owned and probably ever looked through. They are compact and reasonably weighted for 10x50’s and the views are bright and clear. The only complaint I would have and it’s not a real complaint is that it’s not compatible with a lot of bino mounts due to the narrow space between the barrels. The Fanaue quick release mount won’t work. I suspect the Oberwerk sport mount will work, but I ended up getting a QICBIUD Universal Binocular Adapter basic mount on Amazon for $5.99 (regularly $8.99) that worked fine. I attached it to an Arca plate. All in all, very happy with this purchase.

A quality product
Despite these being a bit expensive, after using them for a year, I can fully recommend. These binoculars are very well built, have amazing optics, and the coatings are great. I don’t have any complaints honestly. I will certainly but from Athalon again in the future.

Super clear glass
Overall these are nice binos with excellent clarity. My complaints are miniscule and in reality are just nit picking. My biggest complaint is the edge to edge clarity. I'd say 3/4 of the glass is super clear with an edge of blurriness all the way around. It really only effects grid glassing when your just trying to cover as much ground as possible, you have to set up your grid pattern to take into account the portion of edge blurriness. The focus knob also has a slight amount of play before the turning firms up. Now for the price, maybe these things are to be expected. They're definitely not in the realm of price as "high end glass" but they weren't free either. I've never looked through more expensive glass so I can't say one way or the other. They are way better than my 20 year nikons. I'm not a weight weeny so to me the weight is fine and has a nice solid feel. Light gathering is good to, I've glassed up to and slightly past shooting light and could see better with them than my naked eye. I love the lens cover they come with and the case is probably fine but I have a chest pack they live in. I'd recommend them but would have liked better edge to edge clarity. Maybe that's the difference between 300 dollars and 800 dollars or even 1500 dollars but I can't justify spending that much. Maybe later in life but right now I'm a baller on a budget!;)

Great binoculars
I did a few hours of research, and these seemed to be the right binoculars for the money. My wife and I are both thrilled with the quality.

Black Bars -- review for 10x50
Everyone's face is different, of course. But for me, while i could hold the binocular a bit out from my face I could see the full field and appreciate some good optics -- very nice clarity in the sweet spot that extends maybe 75% out to the edge -- but when I tried to nudge in to get a comfortable viewing position supported against my face the view was marred by black bars. For me, several hundred dollars for some otherwise good binos that I couldn't hold comfortably was not going to work. Regrettably, a return -- a shame because I really wanted these to work out given the glowing reviews. It was almost comical to try to use these at night -- a nice starfield , with a black blob on one side; try to compensate and the black blob comes in from the other side. Attack from the Coalsack Nebula! Note to Athlon: rework the eyecup extension so that there is a setting that comes out just a few more millimeters. No fault to Euro Optics. I ordered from Amazon through them with no problems.

Incredible
Crystal clear leaps and bounds above my Vortex. Will be getting a second set in 12x50 for hunting the fields.

Solid Pair of Binoculars
These are a great pair of binoculars. They are build very solid and have a very good image. Pros: Solid build, good colours in image, sharp image, comfy neck strap, nice focus wheel, good grip, stiff but easy movement, diopter has no ridges on it but is stiff so it won't move unless you move it, objective and ocular lens convers are really great. Cons: - Eye comfort isn't ideal - It can be a bit hard to make sure you don't get any black spots in the image but once you figure out where to position your eyes this isn't really a problem. - IPD is tight, had to offset objective lens cover rings to move lens close enough - Little bit of play in eye cups but nothing that affects the image Overall an awesome pair of binoculars. I would definitely recommend these.

Awesome for the money
I researched lots of Binos and these were suppose to be better and cheaper than the vortex vipers which I really like and I have to agree. Super clear right to the edges and awesome in low light. Well built.

Incredible! Be aware min PD is 59!!!
So happy and satisfied. These bins are beautiful. I have a narrow face, IPD 61, so these literally just fit. Basically completely folded down max where the objective lens touch. I found a tripod adapter with narrow screw and it just fits. I don’t think these are good for kids thou as mentioned in the description. measure your ipd! Edit nov2022, stargazing with these bins is where it’s at ! It’s originally why I purchased them for and I am always amazed. I have a digit scope adapter and Pictures are stunning for birding. Prices have gone up so I wonder if the good reviews are changing things. For a 10x50 I am pleased. If prices increase for the 8x42 however, these are entering into some very serious completion for midlevel 8x32 at 600-1000 cdn Japanese built ect other brands. Perhaps athlon is just that good with the lifetime warranty and is unnoticed by the so called binocular specialists as there are brands that have been in it for so long with many different models. I am very curious to how the market works as it can be many years before a model changes and there are also many various models overpriced on amazon. Some popular Japanese optic company/brands or American designed hunting marketed have their line ups manufactured in China and then their top line models manufactured/constructed in Japan and/or constructed with parts from somewhere else ect. Maybe Canadians are just getting shafted and there may be something going on with the prices with amazon.ca right now for the Midas Line up.
