Better than expected
When I bought my Jeep GC HA I did not realize the roof rails were not functional roof rails, I originally bought the Mopar roof rack and that’s when I realized I had an issue. I’m glad I found these and they seem to be the only rack available without making modifications to the existing rails on the Jeep. When I bought this rack the black bars were not in stock so I opted to get the silver instead of waiting, I was worried they might not look as good vs. the black but they don’t look that bad, I think they look pretty good. Install wasn’t too bad, I had a couple hiccups from not following a couple steps in order so took me longer than it should have but wasn’t difficult, I definitely recommend watching the instructional video as it is easier to follow than the paper instructions alone. Once the bars are on, adjusting them so they are centered was the biggest issue for me, I could not get them to move easily and kept overshooting when I did get them to move, not sure what the trick is there but I did make sure I loosened the bolts that hold them in place. Visually my only complaint is the black rubber or plastic part that sits on the black rails of the vehicle does not match, I wish the black was darker so it blended in with the rails better. Noise wise I don’t have any complaints so far, I don’t hear any whistling or other annoying noises from this rack but you can hear a little more wind noise than usual but that is to be expected but it’s not loud. Loving this rack and being able to transport my SUP board!

Great Option for SRT owners
Impressed with the quality of these bars, cost, and ease of installation. Thus far after multiple extended highway trips of over 300 miles as well as daily driving I have yet to hear a single whistle from these, with or without the box in place. We have a Thule cargo box we use relatively frequently and I wanted to have the option of putting it on the Jeep so went looking for options, if you have an SRT and have gone down this road you know that there simply aren't very many without having to replace roof rails, etc. The installation was straightforward though the instructions weren't necessarily the most clear, take your time and you will be fine. The fitment is outstanding and the bases install with a total of four bolts in stock locations and were quite solid once in place. Adjusting the bars was also very straightforward with the provided tools. In regards to the reviews mentioning "whistling noise", I think the key is to make sure you install the plastic tabs to cover the opening on the bottom at the ends of the bars between the locking piece and the end caps before putting the end caps on, this is actually well explained in the instructions, and so far I have yet to experience any whistling or marked wind noise since installing them.

Jeep Grand Cherokee roof rack crossbars put to the test
I bought these roof rack crossbars because I was going on 3 weekend camping trips back-to-back with my family of 4 and needed the extra room and I wanted to buy a cargo roof rack to put on top of my Jeep Grand Cherokee. First of all, thank you BRIGHTLINES for making the ONLY bolt-on roof rack crossbars for the Jeep Grand Cherokee Altitude edition, I thought I was going to have to pay for parts and assembly though Jeep Mopar to get a roof rack! The delivery was very quickly and was easier to assemble than I thought it would be, good instructions! I read the reviews on Amazon about the noise the air makes going past the crossbars, but in my opinion it isn't as bad a people were making it out to be, plus what do you expect when you add something to the top of your vehicle when nothing was there before... These crossbars got an added accessory to them fairly quick, I added a cargo roof rack attached to them because I was going on 3 weekend camping trips back-to-back and needed the extra space for gear that wouldn't fit inside. I put the crossbars and the trust in my assembly skills to the test with a 7-hour round trip to El Captain State Beach, in California, with a fully loaded cargo rack on top of the crossbars and it did wonderful. 2nd weekend it made a 14-hour round trip to Zion, Utah, and again it did great and my gas milage wasn't really affected by the drag up top, about 22mpg which isn't terrible in a Jeep. 3rd weekend it made a 12-hour round trip to the a Eastern Sierras and again it held up well, even through the desert winds with a fully packed cargo rack, and I was very worried about this known section of the driving route, but I was happy and impressed with the cross bars and cargo rack. I think the value for the crossbars are great!

Quality rack at a great price! Perfect fitment!
These bars are quality made. This fit perfectly on my17 jeep srt with the black roof mouldings. Absolutely no whistling noises at any speed even after adjusting the rack forward to fit a cargo box. I gave them 4 stars due to two of the 4 lock cores being very hard to turn inside their plastic housing. I actually thought the cylinder was pinned wrong at first. Some silicone grease would have fixed this but the cores are not removable like as with yakima which would have made it very easy to grease. I used some wd40 and spray lithium grease and it helped a lot. Other than that.....do no hesitate to purchase! This is the only rack that fits on a WK2 SRT without spending an arm and a leg for whispbar parts from australia or installing regular GC roof rails and buying a factory rack set.

Great alternative for Grand Cherokee with non Roof-rails
Awesome fit for Grand Cherokee. Looks great and very minimal wind noise. Note: I did not use the additional overhang gap fillers as provided and recommended in the instructions which could possibly eliminate the wind noise entirely. Installation was snap -the adjustment process is easy and straight forward. I recommend using a tape measure to ensure centering. Removal/reinstallation is super easy. *TIP- I labeled with a piece of tape denoting which side and front or rear before I removed. It should remount perfectly with no adjustments as long as they’re positioned the same as removed. Overall the quality is on point and feels very sturdy. My only criticism is I wish they came in black.

These Are Rock Solid Racks for a Great Price
I recently bought a 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee Altitude and needed to add racks for my surfboards and ski rack. I was a little concerned about these racks because they priced so much lower than the Thule, Yakima and similar name brand racks. However, given the reviews here, I gave them a try. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the racks when they arrived. They are rock solid. I was also surprised at how easy they were to install and how well they fit. They actually look like OEM racks once installed. I am very happy with these racks and would definitely buy them again. One suggestion, however: I strongly recommend using some form of adhesive to the end caps on the rack. While 3 of mine fit very snuggly, one was a little loose. To avoid loosing an end cap, I recommend using something like: https://www.amazon.com/3M-08061-Plastic-Emblem-Adhesive/dp/B0002MID28/ref=sr_1_19?keywords=3m+car+trim+adhesive&qid=1568825981&sr=8-19

Work great!
I was very skeptical considering the price of these compared to other major brands. I took my time and installed these on my own in about 30 minutes. I have driven with them on the highway and have no new sounds whatsoever. My advice would be to take your time while trimming the insert which blocks air from going in them because it is probably what has caused the whistling in other reviews. I would also recommend blue thread locker on the installation bolts because they can be removed and should keep them quite sturdy. If something changes with these I’ll update my review but so far they have far surpassed my expectations Update July 2024 Going on four years with never taking these off my vehicle and they are still working great

End caps were loose on installation and fell off(Followed instructions to a T)
End caps fell off on day 2 of owning them. This was years ago and I have been working with Customer support. Replacements came and I physically glued them in as they fit sloppy and fall out. Next week another end caps falls out and they send replacements. Both of those replacements DID NOT FIT and frustrated I waited. Now they will not send caps that fit the ends and want to charge me $14 for a piece of plastic that is flawed. Wish I had more options or I would buy different bars as these also have a lot of wind noise.
