The Americana Collection Liberty Falls captures the energy of the growing American Frontier With each new building and home "constructed" in Liberty Falls, more of the history of this delightful Colorado town unfolds. We witness the joys and sorrows...triumphs and disappointmens...of bankers, miners, restaurateurs...adventurers and renegades...entertainers and story-spinners. Come with us on a journey back to those frontier days --when anything seemed possible and each day brought a new opportunity for adventure. The wonderfully pure spring water available near Liberty Falls encouraged Joshua Ausberg to settle hereabouts when he migrated West from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. As a Midwestern lad, Joshua apprenticed at one of Milwaukee's most famous breweries. Always ambitious, he learned not only his own job of tending the hops and grains but also the entire brewing process. The manager of Joshua's shift took a shine to the boy and shared many years of knowledge about evaluating ingredients, aging times, temperatures, and recipes -- all the practical knowledge that a young man would need to begin his very own brewery someday. In Liberty Falls, Ausberg started small: working out of a building that was little more than a shack until he could see how his brew would catch on. With more than a score of saloons in town, he knew he'd have a ready market, assuming his beer was "to the taste" of local patrons. Much to his delight, they loved the heavier, German-style beer Ausberg offered and by the mid 1880's the young entrepreneur was able to open the doors of his own elegant brewery building just outside Liberty Falls.
