I actually stumbled across emu oil using a pain relief spray that was made with a lot of natural ingredients and included the oil as one of them. My husband bought it for me, but prior to that I had never heard of, or considered using, emu oil. I wanted to use this product on my face because I have naturally dry skin -- no matter the water intake, or the products I normally use... it's dry the following day, OR (because my skin is just... bleh) it becomes exceptionally oily depending on the products used, and it leaves that heavy, lingering feeling that just makes you want to wash your face immediately! This, when applied (even modestly) doesn't make me feel like I'm swimming in a deep fryer. I was pretty wary, honestly, because of the level of ... ridiculousness my skin upholds regularly. I had read mixed reviews where this product had caused acne, or made it become worse and so on. I suffered with bad acne some years back, so admittedly I was really nervous. I ended up using the product (and have been now for weeks) and the most I have gotten was a small blemish that was BARELY noticeable. I imagine that is caused by the various properties of the oil that brought it to the surface and subsequently -- got rid of it (queue retinol on acne prone skin, but 1,000x less severe... Lord, help us)! For those of you suffering with acne, give this a try. The best thing I ever did for myself (seriously, because it was BAD)... WAS STEP AWAY from the overpriced, promised-to-work-but-usually-only-works-halfway products and prescriptions and try more natural approaches. Water. A god awful amount of water. Vitamins that promote healthy skin, and slow the turnover rate of shedding cells (ladies, BORAGE OIL FOR HORMONES). Tea tree oil mixed with mostly water (try different levels before going all out). That is the ONLY cleanser I use, along with JUST. WATER. Gentle cleansing and exfoliation, 2x a day. If you have long hair, get it in check before you lay down, otherwise you're going to wake up with a face full of connect-the-dots. Invest in GOOD makeup, not acne preventative makeup. It usually looks awful and certainly doesn't help. Ever. (And I don't care of you just had a one night stand and wanna look like Cleopatra, tell John to slow it down and -- RINSE/CLEAN YOUR FACE.) If you are feeling adventurous, TRY THIS STUFF. My skin is lighter, more even toned, and an added bonus was that my eyelashes EXPLODED when I applied this to my eyelids before bed (please don't slather this in, or all over, your eyes). It helps with pain in joints and is overall a great product. This is 100% refined, so there is no additonal... "bird stuff" in your oil. TLDR; Try this. Try it again... And try it some more. I am an oily goddess with this product and I don't regret the purchase one bit. It is literally the ONLY moisturizer I used and plan to use, now! Review: The trick is to apply to wet skin - Iโve been using this particular brand of emu oil for over a year now for facial moisturizing, and for several months as an intimate moisturizer. The bioidentical estrogen creams make me smell like fish, the emu oil is odorless and doesnโt change my chemistry, and keeps cracks and dryness at bay. As a facial moisturizer, itโs been keeping my skin supple and hydrated. Iโve used emu oil since my mid 30s, as it is good for use under mineral powder makeup. Now in my 50s, itโs still doing the trick, though I no longer wear makeup. The trick for application is to smooth it over damp to full-on wet skin. Just a couple drops for the whole face, and another couple for the lady bits, straight out of the shower. The water helps it to spread thinly and evenly, so you arenโt tempted to use more. Using just a couple drops lets it sink right into the skin, and it doesnโt leave any oily feeling on the skin surface. This emu oil is unscented, and that seems to work fine for me. I thought I was going to add an essential oil blend to it to cover up the slight bird fat smell that I expected, but this one doesnโt have any noticeable smell, so I didnโt bother. The cost vs bottle size is good, and is the main reason I chose this brand initially. I stuck with it for both cost and quality.

THE BEST
I suffered from severe acne two years ago. It was terrible. Since then it has calmed down to next to nothing and now I am just left with the scarring. I just recently started using this and although I can't speak for how it affects my dark marks directly... this is a moisturizer that makes my skin feel hydrated all night until I wake up in the morning and apply a thinner layer again after my shower. It is better than other moisturizers I've used at x3 the price so I do recommend this to anyone. It does not break my out, it is odorless (to me), natural and applicable to more than just your skin (hair too). Update: By far my favorite oil. I'm ordering coconut oil next to try out, but this one is still the best natural oil that I've tried. I recently had a really bad breakout and started using this 10% Benzoyl Peroxide Panoxyl bar to get rid of it, I used it for four days straight and it dried my skin out so bad that when I smiled I looked like I was fifty years old (I'm 19). It freaked me out and I could not go out in public for the next two days. The skin all over my face got super flaky and it looked as if it was burned around my mouth due to redness. (Nothing against Panoxyl because I do think it works, I just used it too intensely with a harsh exfoliating scrub.) Low and behold I had some of this emu oil left to save me from this trauma. It was the only moisturizer I had that soothed the dryness. It worked 20x better than olive oil, almond oil, honey and all my other branded products. I applied a generous layer on my face before bed and let it absorb for a moment before applying Aquaphor all over it to seal it in. It took only two days and nights of this before my skin was hydrated enough for me to be out in public again. Since this happened, I've been using it more regularly again... and I gotta say I look GOOD. Maybe it has to do with the unintentional face-peel I did... but I look so well-rested. After I try out coconut oil, I'll probably come back to this. I can't imagine something else working so well with my acne prone skin. Update 3 years later: Still the best oil. Better than almond and coconut. Great for hair. I bought a giant size and gave 4oz to the girls in my family for christmas. There's nothing else like it.

Itโs ok
This winter has hit hard on my dry sensitive skin, and after reading up on emu oil, I thought Iโd give it a try. I tried it alone at first on my feet at night before bed- and it seemed to do about the same job as my regular moisturizer. It wasnโt overly greasy and did absorb quickly but no โwowโ results. Then I decided to combine it with my regular moisturizer and this seemed to work better- it kept the dryness at bay for longer- but not to the extent I was hoping for. I tried this combo for about a week on my very dry hands, elbow and legs as well and found that it worked much better with my regular lotion than alone. I had to reapply less often, but not a lot less. Not a moisture lasts all day kind of thing. As another review mentioned- there is a scent- not a chemical scent and it isnโt unpleasant, just โฆdistracting? You can tell it is an animal product- like clean rendered fat- which it is, really. This makes me not like using it on my hands, and I tend to want to wash them once I use it. That sort of defeats the purpose for me as my hands are my biggest problem area for dry skin. To be fair, I have a very sensitive nose, so it may not bother someone else at all. Overall, I am not sure if the emu oil is worth the hype, but if you donโt mind the mildly distracting smell, it is a good all-natural moisturizer that doesnโt contain any chemicals. Best I can say is that it does moisturize and seems to enhance my other lotions to an extent, but honestly I achieve much better and much longer lasting moisture in my skin (all day) using olive oil & fine sea salt in a scrub in the bath or shower before a light soap and rinse (even if it requires me to scrub out the shower or tub with a degreaser for safety afterwards). Since this is just as natural and less work than that, it may be for you. I will use this up, but probably wonโt purchase again.

Works like a charm!
I bought this after seeing a volunteer use this on patients at the chemo infusion center. It's really a great product for drying skin, cracked skin, etc. Some of the patients have red blotchy spots under the skin caused by the chemo and I thought this would be great for my husband's skin for the same reason. He had two big red blotches where his skin had turned from his shirt sleeve rubbing against it. Since he's been on chemo, the least little irritation will cause these marks. I used it two days in a row and they were quickly disappearing. I actually saw results after the first use. I also read that emu oil is good for arthritis pain and tried it. It has a cumulative effect so using it two-three times a day helps a lot. It's not for everyone, I'm sure, as some people have arthritis worse than others but it helps me. It won't make it disappear, granted, but nothing will. Let's just say it helps and I'll take the little help I can get when it comes to the aches of arthritis. Word of warning...a little goes a LONG way. One drop on the knee (or wherever you need to use it) will do the trick. If you feel greasy after you use it, you're using too much. :) It absorbs into the skin quite well and I've noticed since I've been using that my cuticles are much softer and not snagging on stuff, too. I've always had a horrible time keeping my cuticles in shape but this has helped that, too. Added benefit. :) At first, I thought it was a bit pricey but when I saw how little it takes and how far ONE drop will go, it's well worth the price you pay. I even re-ordered it to have so I could share with my Mother and see if she likes it. Hope my information will help someone else. Give it a try. If you don't like it, you can always give it to someone else. Maybe their results will be different from yours. After all, we're all different little peaches in this basket called Earth! :)

For Piercing Care...
I use this emu oil for piercing care and it has proved itself to be immensely helpful. It feels soothing and is able to soak easily into the skin if you don't use more than necessary. It is able to moisturize without cutting off proper air circulation or causing any irritations. Since the oil is very "breathable," I also have not noticed any clogged pores or breakouts when using this. My piercing care ritual now only consists of saline soaks and this emu oil and I have honestly never been happier. In my experience it will also help clear an infection in a piercing and reduce painful or aesthetically unpleasing scar tissue around the piercing site. I thoroughly believe that salt water soaks paired with this oil, or even this oil alone, as long as you are still hygienic while showering/bathing, could entirely replace the use of other popular after piercing care items such as: Antibacterial Dial Soap, Bactine, Hydrogen Peroxide, or any other harsh chemicals or ointments of which I know there are many. When caring for a piercing, you want to soothe and promote your cells to heal and replenish, not punish them with regeneration stunting methods. After using a saline solution to clean my ear I use this product. I first dry my ear with a q-tip. I then squeeze a small drop of the oil onto the end of a new q-tip and gently deposit the oil onto one opening of my piercing and repeat the process for the other opening(s). I then rub any excess oil that has soaked into the q-tip on the jewelry, focusing on the sections closest to the openings in my skin. As a last tip, I do not believe in the necessity for turning the jewelry in a healing piercing. If you are concerned about the oil not penetrating, I believe this product would eliminate your worries. In my experience it soaks in thoroughly. I believe turning jewelry increases the chances of you bringing a dirty section into the wound, introducing bacteria. I have had over 6 years of experience caring for personal piercings and those of close relatives. In the four months I have been using this product I have seen more improvements and ease of healing then with any other product I have used. However, this is the first and only Emu Oil brand I have tried and I do not have an opinion on its comparison to other brands.

I Use This On My Face
I got this to help with acne scarring. I have mild to moderate acne scarring on small portions of my face. It's kind of amazing. I put it on a clean, washed face before bed. I put it all over, including carefully blending under my eyes and around the corners of my eyes. I wake up the next morning and my face just glows all day. Overnight it reduces scarring. As far as I can tell the scar reduction is permanent and does not require continuous use to maintain. I've had a reduction in discoloration and an increase in skin texture quality and smoothness. My face feels AMAZING to the touch the morning after. Honestly my face hasn't looked better in years. I have lived in a very dry climate for a while, and I think I am finally getting enough moisturization. I use this 1-3 times a week. The other nights I do my regular skin care routine. I treat it sort of like you would treat a hair mask - an extra moisturization that I use as-needed. I've found that if I use it too often, my face does become too oily. I have gotten one or two blackheads which I think are from using this, but they've been completely on the skin surface and easily removable. Can't tell they were there. If I get a blackhead from it, I just wait a greater number of nights between my next use, until my face starts to look drier again. And I'm getting LESS new acne overall since using it. I'd recommend it to anyone with mild to moderate scarring like mine. I think if you live in a dry climate or have dry skin, you'd want to put it on your entire face. I think if you live in a more humid climate, or have oily skin, you will not want to use this as a moisturizer -- but it could be helpful for scarring and skin repair; I'd try spot-treating first. Best - xo

Genuine emu oil
When the emu farms in India closed down during covid, the suppliers began supplying spurious oils. I desperately began my search for a genuine emu oil, and I found it with pro emu. I use emu oil for inflammation, and this oil delivered. I will be ordering a second bottle. A lot of customers crib about the quantity and the price. Pure emu oil is expensive, especially when it is is imported from another country

The only oil that helped my sensitive scalp
It works great for my super sensitive scalp. I mix eat with aloe vera gel and put it on my scalp. I wash or rinse it the next day. It really helped me.

Moisturizing but didn't help my eczema
Nice and greasy, so great for keeping problematic dry areas supple, but it didn't do anything for my eczema. May have made my flare up itchier.
