Way Less Butterknife, Way Mo’ AK-47!
I finally got this product Nov. 6 after ordering it in July. It arrived by USPS in very good condition and was packed well in expansion foam. The factory must have shipped it as soon as it was made ‘cause it smelled like fresh carbon fiber resin. The diffuser was easy to mount, although I added additional 3M mounding tape. It also came with 10 plastic screws, but there are only 3 screw holes on the bottom. This diffuser does make the P3D look more aggressive, just hoping it will last through the winter. The diffuser is very light and appears to be made of real carbon fiber. So if you want a meaner looking M3 get one. You’ll make the the ICE “Toonies” go Looney, ‘cause all they can make is Noise Not Pure Acceleration like a Tesla, and the diffuser visually backs it up.

Real carbon fiber, satisfied with the look!
This is the Type A version — looks great, real carbon fiber, relatively easy to install once aligned. May want to use rubber washers or alternate fasteners rather than the included long screws, but they worked for alignment and to get a hole started. Arrived within the estimated window — i.e. took a while since it’s coming from overseas, but packaged well and I’m very satisfied with the splitter.

Perfect amount of Diffuser
The rear of the Tesla Model 3 is a bit large and somewhat plain so I was looking for a nice diffuser that was aggressive but not overly so. This one is perfect because the fins don't stick out too far and it doesn't come up past the bottom of the rear reflectors. I also purchased the rear splitters they sell, I think that without them the diffuser would look too isolated in the center of the bumper with nothing on the side.Material: Real Carbon fiber twill weave laid on ABS plastic (I think) with a gloss coating. The coating is pretty thick and the weave looks good as well. I didn't see any major mistakes in the weave or damage to the coating.Shipping: It took about a month and a half from China. Surprisingly , even though I ordered the splitters and diffuser in the same order they were sent in different shipments.Packaging: This is shipping directly from China. The diffuser was wrapped in a soft packing material. The main packing material was molded foam which is the best you are going to get without going to wood or steel. The box was a carton so the top cardboard piece went over the bottom, again this is the best you are going to get. For any product I've received from China this is the best packing I've ever seen.Installation Hardware: What I assume is automotive VHB tape is applied for you on the front and sides the back however has three screw holes. I don't know if the tape is good or not because I messed up the first install and had to replace it with 3m exterior attachment tape (38583). They also provide a bag of screws, you'll only need three. The tape can be removed later usually without damaging the paint but the diffuser does need to be drilled into the car with three screws. It gets drilled into a plastic bottom piece known as the "rear fascia diffuser" Tesla part number 1135410-00-A. Normally any drilling into a car's body panels or frame is serious but this is neither. It's like a thick under car cover in the rear. Having said that other diffusers I've seen , like from RPMTesla, use tape all around. The one advantage of screwing this in is that you can put the diffuser on yourself and the screws press the tape against. Maybe it's for the best that there are three screws especially when a diffuser is subject to alot of air movement.Problems: There's only one complaint and it's something I have to investigate further but the diffuser doesn't fully sit flat on the cars existing fins, check pictures for details. I'm not sure if this an issue but so far it's held on driving at highway speed with no noise.Final Thoughts: Less than $500 for a real carbon fiber diffuser shipping is a great deal. I really recommend the splitters as well. Compare this price to well over $1000 at retail locations for a Tesla Model 3 spoiler. Also, as I stated above, the design of this is the perfect combination of sporty without looking like a ridiculously hypercar diffuser.
