The hype is real
The hype is real, these flimsy little headphones produce an unbelievably accurate sound for the price. If you like heavy bass or overly accentuated frequencies they may not be for you, but they have a very true sound signature and have left me wondering why I have spent so much on previous headphones. They are a little delicate, but if you handle them carefully they should last you and as a bonus they come with a limited lifetime guarantee, so no sweat. That apart, the sound coming out of them is nothing short of astonishing, they don't need an amp but I play them from what I have on hand (Ifi Zen). Anyway, total bargain. Thank you Koss.

Superb little things
So, I admit it, I went down the Koss rabbit hole. Read the reviews, watched the videos, changed my mind a dozen times, then bought the KPH30i. I have used Flare and Sony in-ear phones for ages but my ears never felt happy...they shifted, were uncomfortable (I have small ears) or the sound just wasn't warm enough for me...or it was too harsh. I have decent over ear headphones that are lush but I wanted something small and lightweight to just throw on and not worry about. Hense the Koss. I chose the 30i because reviews suggested they were comfortable and had a good 'warm' sound without being too base heavy but without muddying the mids. Plus they weren't so expensive that I would be gutted if they weren't all that good. In fact they are fabulous! They are a 'warm' sound so don't expect sparkly high tones, but they sound cosy and intimate and don't hurt my ears with high notes. I did use EQ to balance the highs and mids a bit more which made the difference, and added yaxi pads for extra comfort but you don't really need to (I liked the colour!). Overall I've found they are very easy to wear and you forget you've got them on half the time. I have a smaller head and find they fit perfectly with no pinching or overt pressure on my ears. I can wear them for hours with no affect at all. They are on-ear with an open back so they don't isolate noise, but after in-ear phones where you can't hear anything else, it's quite nice to do things without having to take headphones off or in-ear phones out when going into a shop etc. You can hear the world around you, though that means that the person sitting next to you on the bus or train can also hear what your listening to. I have checked it though, and honestly it's not that noticeable. I love these things! My only fear is that I now want more Koss headphones to try... maybe the porta pros next.

Very good sound & very fragile
Bought these from Amazon USA. No issues. By mistake they sent me transparent ones. Fantastic sound quality. But … after one year of every day use I have spotted little cracks in the farm. And they they break. As the drivers are so good I had to do something with it. As you can see below I have used “twin & Earth Cable 2.5mm square “. Works perfectly. Last month replaced them with Koss KPH40 (shame that they aren’t available in UK)

Least distorted audio at this price point.
I have several expensive headphones (Grado, Fostex, Sennheiser, Beyerdynamic etc...) and audio gear (DACs, headphone amps, USB filters and cleaners, special audiophile grade wiring etc...) so I have an idea of detailed audio quality that is smooth and pleasant. These headphones do exactly that... they are detailed and at the same time the tonality, the notes, the sound is smooth. There is no distortion in the output. This is important if you don't want to get headaches when listening to music. If the sound produced by the phones do not have noise then the music is pleasant. Every note and beat is accurate and seem to come from the correct point in space (sound-stage). They have done something right with these headphones to make them that detailed and have a good sound quality. Don't get me wrong these are no slouches. They can be used for genres like heavy metal and EDM and still do a perfect job. They are exciting when they need to be... which is a property that I have seen only with higher priced headphones What impressed me the most is the price for these as they punch much higher than they are worth. I would class these well above 100 GBP based on the sound output alone if I did not know the price beforehand. If you want something to throw on your head while walking around your house and listening to music... these would be it. They play well with the headphone output from your phone but shine when you plug them into a dedicated headphone amplifier/DAC combo. Perhaps a dragonfly DAC would suit these really well. I highly recommend getting a pair just based on the price to performance ratio alone!

Great sound
Excellent sound , The sponge is a little rough so I will need to buy some yaxi pads to soften it up . The open back design is great for gaming as my son can still hear me call his name if playing. Headband could be fragile if abused .

Don't believe the hype - these are average
I bought these after reading several reviews saying they had great sound for the money - THEY DON'T SOUND GREAT - FORGET THE HYPE - it's wrong. IF THEY WEREN'T CHEAP AND I HADN'T IMPORTED THEM, I WOULD SEND THEM BACK. Here's what I found: SOUND: AVERAGE AT BEST - a VERY COMPRESSED 'MIDDLEY' SOUND - BASS IS POOR and TREBLE LIMITED - doesn't offend, but doesn't excite or interest. The lack of frequency response means that at least, they aren't tiring to listen to - there's nothing to offend. Note: RESPONSE IS MIDDLING - they do need a bit more volume than other headphones I have. STEREO IMAGING IS DECENT BUT DOES NOT MAKE UP FOR THE 'MEH' SOUND QUALITY. COMFORT: NOT BAD - they are LIGHT and DON'T PRESS ON THE HEAD - so far. Worth noting: ADJUSTMENT IS LIMITED - I have quite a large head and I have them at the limit of adjustment. Because they SIT ON YOUR EARS and ARE OPEN they are not sweaty if that is a problem for you (it is for me). APPEARANCE - They look really cheap - REALLY, REALLY CHEAP! LEAKAGE: They are open backed but leakage is not a problem. IT IS EASY TO HEAR WHAT IS GOING ON AROUND YOU - I like this, but if you don't want to hear - ISOLATION IS POOR. These are an AVERAGE PRODUCT - barely worth the cash.

Light and sound very nice
I like these very much. Bought the first pair to replace a worn out pair of Porta Pro's. Bought the second pair for my wife to replace an old pair of Sennheiser XP90's. The sound is very nice and neither of us were disappointed. They are light and we can wear them for hours without problems. My daughter keeps pinching them and she is very particular about her headphones and the sound the produce, so they must be good.

End game headphones with budget feeling build
These sound stunning. They punch WAY above their price bracket in terms of clarity, technicality, tonal colour. The soundstaging is pretty eh.. they are open backs so I would not wear them on transport but they are SO light and they feel like nothing. They are on ear headphones so for me at least, after a while the clamping becomes quite unbearable especially because it pushes the ear onto my head and my it starts to hurt. I modded mine with the KOSS foam pads and I removed the foam from infront of the speaker unit and from inside the headphone and it improved clarity so much. it also helped just a little bit with soundstaging but not a lot. Overall an amazing headphone. The build quality is a bit budget but in my book thats actually a really good thing. It's light and when you fiddle around or try to mod it, you dont feel stressed you might break something. you can see where things are clipped and attached therefore you can see how you can open it up. New and premium headphones love to hide and glue and seal the seams and it just makes modding or repairing so much harder. These remind me of the days when music players were a dedicated device and the fact that they still sound so amazing is so nice.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Hidden Gem for Audiophiles on a Budget⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I wasn’t expecting to be this impressed with the Koss KPH30i (Nera), but it has completely changed how I view budget headphones. Sound Quality: For the price, the audio performance is simply outstanding. The sound is clean, balanced, and surprisingly spacious. The bass is tight without being overbearing, the mids are warm and rich (especially vocals), and the highs are smooth without harshness. It’s rare to find such a natural, non-fatiguing sound signature in this price range. Comfort: The lightweight, retro-inspired design is extremely comfortable, even for long listening sessions. The headband is soft and flexible, and the clamping force is just right — secure without being too tight. Mic & Remote: The built-in microphone and one-button remote are super convenient for calls and music control. Call clarity is decent for the price, and it’s compatible with both Android and iOS devices. Build Quality: Although the housing is mostly plastic, it doesn’t feel cheap. The headband reinforcement and detachable cable (with standard 3.5mm jack) add a lot of value. The semi-open design also helps create an airy, less congested soundstage. Final Verdict: If you’re looking for an incredibly affordable, great-sounding on-ear headphone with a mic, look no further. The KPH30i punches far above its weight — perfect for casual listeners, audiophiles on a budget, and anyone who appreciates good sound without breaking the bank. Pro tip: Pair it with aftermarket YAXI pads to take comfort and sound to another level!

Sorprendentes
