I have a company laptop which allows only usb headphoned/headset but the headset was hurting my ears after long meetings. I wanted somehow to use my much better over the ear headphones and this adapter made this happen. No driver to install, just plug and play. Audio quality is great including the one from the inline mic. Now I can have longconf calls in comfort.Delivery was very fast as well. The item quality feel very good and I like the threaded cable and its flexibility.

I bought this to enable me to use a microphone with a 3.5mm jack in a USB slot on my laptop to record video voiceovers.Quality is excellent (better than my Snowball)

This worked exactly as I intended.I have a laptop connected to a monitor with Jack Audio for headphones and Jack Audio for microphone separate plugs that gets the sound via HDMI.I wanted to be able use my combined headset (one jack), and being able to choose what sounds/app I have redirected to the internal speaker of the laptop, so I hear alerts without having to have the headphones, while for video conference I would use them.The USB dondle work as a new Audio Device, so it is exactly what I wanted. I connect it to the USB ports in the monitor, so is very convenient.I've only tried with Windows 10 Enterprise 64 bit.

I bought this so I could bypass the 3.5mm out of my office computer as I was getting abhorrent noises which basically ruined any enjoyable listening.Right now I'm using an RCA to 3.5 mm jack connecting this unit to my FiiO K5 Pro and I can hear a high pitch noise in the background and some screeching specially in high gain ( which is what I use for my AKG K712 pros). It's certainly better that before but still no perfect, and when I'm listening to songs that have moments of silence I can hear that background noise.It's ok for casual listening but I wouldn't rely on this if you're looking for proper sound quality.

The USB to 3.5mm port is indeed automatically recognised by the system. The audio adapter is not just a connecting cable, it has a built-in chip, and I already believe that it actually does enhance the sound quality, which will become more apparent over time I am sure.This not only immediately solved the problem of my Mac not seeing external speakers/subwoofer plugged into the headphone socket as worked without problems on older models, but I believe it has improved sound quality. I can also select on my Mac on which device will play music (internal/external speakers/headphones) without unplugging anything. This really works. Excellent, high quality build accessory. Highly recommended.

My son had his gaming headset plugged into his controller, which was then plugged into a USB port on the console to keep it charged [he doesn't use the controller otherwise as he's switched to keyboard and mouse]. This didn't strike me as very elegant, so I wanted a way to plug the headset [with a 3.5mm jack] into PS4's USB port. This fits the bill and works as required.

Perfect little device, did what its supposed to do. Go this to use my TRRS headphones with mic on my older iMac, where the Line In wouldn't pick up the mic. Plugged headset plug into the braided cable (nice) socket with a firm click, then plugged into a free USB Slot on the mac. Hey Presto! Great quality sound thru the headset and the mic levels hit the peak with no problems. Perfect, what more can I say.

This works well using a conventional mobile headset with mike (and a 3mm Jack) through the adaptor and into a usb port on the laptop for skype and cisco Webex meetings. Just be aware that depending on the headset used your voice can be a bit faint - but it definitely works. For the price and the convenience of then being able to use a more conventional headset via USB this is well worth the money
