Excellent aroma and nutty sweet flavor
Been drinking starbux French roast for years and I'm just bored with it... This medium roast has a delicious aroma when brewing and a slight hazelnut taste with a mild acidic sweetness I normally associate with columbian beans. It's a good 'just black" coffee, but it's acidity goes well with a little creamer. I will probably buy more of this.

Smoothest coffee ever
10/10 best coffee I have ever tasted. It’s so smooth, caramel notes. I was tired of buying coffee that has a burnt, bland bitter taste. I don’t really drink black coffee but this is absolutely delicious even by its self. I will definitely repurchase this.

Skeptical then surprised
I saw a lot of reviews that remarked about the “drink by” date being so close. Our bags were recently filled. The first cup was a surprise because it tasted “flat”, but I think that’s due to being used to drinking typical brand named coffees; which tend to be really acidic. Stumptown is very mellow and tastes like the coffee you get after a good restaurant dinner. If you’re afraid of losing the ‘pick-me-up’ don’t worry because it’s still there.

A smooth, floral coffee that surprised me in the best way
One of the best coffees on Amazon. I picked up Stumptown’s Holler Mountain a couple weeks ago and have been impressed from the first cup. It has a light, floral profile with a touch of natural sweetness that comes through without any bitterness. A lot of coffees promise balance, but this one actually delivers. If you like a cup that’s smooth, bright, and easy to drink without tasting harsh, this is one worth trying. I would only ask for a larger bag and a reduction in cost along with it. It definitely is a bit pricey.

LACKS FLAVOR AND PRETTY LIGHTWEIGHT IF YOU ,LIKE YOUR COFFEE LIGHT
Lacks flavor to me as well as it seemed very lightweight. Not much of an aroma and for the price a bit spendy for what it is, but coffee now days is much more expensive. I'll stick with a single source darker roast coffee (Costco) If you like a very light smooth coffee this is for you. I will not make another purchase. Was not impressed.

Chocolate and Caramel tasting notes
I'd first like to put up a disclaimer that the coffee's taste varies greatly on how you brew your coffee. While this is an excellent choice for espresso shots and even better for lattes, my favorite is as pourover or through aeropress. Pourover and Immersion process at the right temperatures (between 180 °F - 195 °F) give an optimal amount of flavor. Some people might have mentioned that it's less sour, but that's usually due to the amount of carbon dioxide in the coffee still. During the roasting process as the bean itself begins to carbonize, it generates CO2 which stays trapped within the bean slowing trying to get out. This is why there are one-way valves on the coffee bags to allow CO2 to escape. With that in mind, your coffee will vary depending on a while variety of factors. * Time since roast * Water temp * Immersion time * Espresso vs Pourover vs Immersion vs etc * James Hoffmann's revised pourover process * James Hoffamnn's old pourover process * Was the coffee brewed within 30 seconds of when it was ground? * How much water did you use vs the amount of coffee? * Is your scale calibrated * Did you rinse your paper filter? * Is your V60 or Immersion container preheated? And the list just keeps going. Typically folks with sour coffee are experiencing under extraction, so that means hotter water, or long extraction. People who are tasting mild coffee that lacks flavor and depth, you need to fix your ratio to get more coffee into the filter. Now with the preface out of the way, this coffee is delicious. A cup pour at just about ~10,000 feet in the Sierras (Laurel Lakes, Inyo National Forest) from an Aeropress 2:30 brew time, yielded delicious coffee with hints of caramel and chocolate. I don't know what Stumptown did, but this was the most flavorful cup I've had with this. It's definitely possible that coffee brewed at high altitudes will also evaporate faster releasing more flavor during a sip, so your mileage may vary. Just keep in mind, I was very happy with these beans. They're very high quality and exceptionally delicious.

Mom approves
My mom commented on how good this coffee was. Might be the First time she complimented a gift I got her.
