Re: item 3 bt hub. when is the rs485 hub needed? don't the 48v x 50ah batteries have multiple ports for up and link to daisy chain?

Some components (like the 12/100 smart Lithium batteries) can be daisy chained and use the BT-2 Bluetooth transmitter, the hub is for components without this feature

Will this work with another brand controller? I need a communications hub for another system that actually has several Rs485 devices.

I bought another charge controller but a different brand and it would not work with it.

So this is actually not used for just multiple battery montitoring say like 4 of the 48V x 50Ah batteries?

I doubt it. But, if you have a Renogy controller that supports the 48 volt it should work. It’s just going to report over all voltage and amps of the 48 volt system not each individual battery.
