It’s crazy that the Mishimoto Amazon store was able to resolve this with zero effort on their part. Let me begin…It all started last year, supply chain nightmares around every corner. My truck build had become stalled, yet again, after another item was put on back order. I needed a new intercooler and the OE unit was just too expensive for what it was. So I convinced myself to buy a better aftermarket one. An unnamed wholesaler supplier I have dealt with for years had this same intercooler on sale, just a few hundred more than the equivalent OE unit, and so I “bought” it. I get told I’d have it in 4-5 weeks. For the next 7 months, if I got a response, it was always 2 weeks more, 2 weeks more, forever more, 2 weeks more.I get fed up and call Mishimoto directly. Behold! They have both silver and black in stock! I couldn’t believe it! Why was I in perpetual back order purgatory?! I’m told that they do not show an order from unnamed company. :/ seriously! When I tried to order from them, I’m told to get the “wholesale” discount, I’d have to buy from another company/supplier. That company wanted an order of $20,000 in order to offer a discount. :| really, I just wanted it for a little off retail guys….After nearly a year of constant disappointment, I found the part number on Amazon! YES! But then I saw it was the Mishimoto store, and despair set in. I crossed my fingers and said F*** it. What’s the worst that can happen? I do t get what I already don’t have?But then it arrived!! My excite was on par with little 5 year old on Christmas morning! It was actually MINE! Best part was I paid a little less than the “wholesaler” price I was paying to behind with! Double win in the end!It fits great, looks great and if the rest of the parts ever actually show up that’s needed for the truck, I’m sure it will perform great. I only got the base intercooler and not the whole “kit” which is the boots/clamps and 2 pipes from turbo to intercooler and intercooler to intake horn. I already had upgraded boots and 1 of the pipes and the 2nd pipe is just a prettier OE sized pipe.

Item arrived on time in pristine condition

Everything fit as expected. No surprises. My 98 12v is running around 400hp/900tq. 52psi max. Prior to doing this I was running around 1200 degrees steady while towing a jeep and trailer uphill at a steady 30psi. After, same hill and same load...steady 1000 degrees and about 25psi. The drop in pressure was a surprise, but the egt drop was expected. So you get same performance with slightly lower boost and much lower egt. Wish I had done this sooner.

Great part. Mishimoto is awesome. UPS completely smashed the box to hell but the packaging and foam held up and the intercooler was undamaged.

Easy install, lower egts, less boost pressure due to less restriction. Turbo air flow sounds better. Imo not necessary unless you tow or run a bigger turbo and injectors

Product came in a box that was torn up and was missing the mounting bolts. And it was bent on the mounting tab.
