Great addition for your kitchen
The chef knife is outstanding. Razor sharp out of the box. Great balance. Love the damascus pattern and the colorful wood handle. Class!

The best knife for a reasonable price.
Love this knife!!! This is my new favorite in the kitchen. Comes very sharp from the box, it looks gorgeous and it's the perfect size for cutting any size beef, so long as you are not butchering a whole cow. Very happy with this purchase.

Manufacturer flaw of steel, exchange process simple
Update:Finally, finally, finally received my knife! I don't know why Amazon informed me that it was delivered on Sept 22 when it wasn't and delivered three days later, but now it is here! And after inspection I am pleased to inform that this exchanged knife is free of flaws! Not quite as sharp as the exchanged flawed one but it'll do, and I can sharpen to a surgical sharpness when needed. The quality seems very good and am happy with my purchase. It is a western style blade, meaning that it is sharpened on both sides and should serve me well in my job as a chef. I purchased this on a whim because my current petty knife is nearly at its end of life and wanted a "better" one. I will update as I use the knife as to its overall quality and usage. The handle is based on the Japanese octagonal shape and forms well within your hand. The metal has a "partially" Damascus look but it's layers in the Japanese metal of VG10 (as true Damascus steel would begin to rust if left wet and would be much, much more expensive than this knife). Also the "hamon" line is not real, more like a design, but can't complain at the price of this knife (not yet anyway lol).Upon inspection of the blade itself I found a divot, like something pointed fell upon the metal near the handle. I requested an exchange and this process was quick and easy. I then mailed it out via UPS as directed. I still have not received my exchange as of Sept 24, 2023 yet have still paid the price of $94.15. I was sent a notice by Amazon stating it was delivered, Sept 22, but have not found it anywhere in the locations that Amazon delivers to so am unable to give a review on the exchanged knife as I have not received it.

Nice but sheath is low quality
Sheath is not very nice considering the quality of the knife

Quality
I bought the complete set of knives for my daughter. These are the most unique knives I've ever seen. Price is not bad for what you get. Are made to last a life time plus.

Not as pictured, ergonomically not great, not sharp lacking value for cost.
I really really wanted to like this knife - I don't and it's incredibly disappointing. This knife was quite expensive and does not live up to even 1/3 the price. The handle it came with is quite pink and does not match up to the design pictured- I know it's "one of a kind" but even the colours didnt match up. The design on the blade is also not as pictured, said blade is also incredibly incredibly dull out of the box.Ergonomically it's also a nightmare. The curvature of the blade isn't great for cutting straight down nor is it for rocking, the hook on the back of the blade is perfectly placed to nick or cut you it you tried to use this as a parking knife for peeling - which you cant really do because the handle and the offset of the blade is too far off for comfort, if you can get comfy you'll probably get cut by the butt of the blade. So it's dull, even if you sharpened it, doesn't function well in its design, even if you kept it because it "looks cool" it doesn't look like the photo 0/5

Another great knife/tool
This along with many knives and tools , this knife is a tool and I purchased it for a good friend who likes to chop vegetables and things for salads etc . Now she always uses a chefs knife in a cumbersome way to do this ! But now , with this vegetable knife she's in control , and loving it no matter what ! She cleans it and replaces to the original box . Thanks Dutch bond

My favorite so far
I really enjoy a good tool, and strongly dislike a poor one. I researched, and researched, and more. I was willing to spend even more on good knives, but something about these captivated me. I was torn between 2. I had to buy both. They both have VERY similar specifications and both at the same price point. Both are beautiful, for my taste, my second choice is prettier, at least for an American, and let me tell you.... this knife is much lighter. At first I didn't like that. I immediately thought I would be doing as much work as my knife. No. This thing is insanely sharp. Honestly both are. But this is superior. As it turns out, the lack of weight helps greatly with fatigue. I've used both. Both wonderful. I know the handles are random. But mine is very attractive. I noticed my hand getting tired after a while with my second choice, but not with this. I highly recommend these knives (at least based on the one I bought). And I intend to buy a full set.
