Can this be used for a bootable OS?

Don't know specifically about bootable OS. But... 1. If you want data security, this is it. So worst case scenario--mount the OS on a different flash. But... 2. Flash-mounted apps in general seem to require a full-featured laptop with ample RAM+HD. Because my HP Stream "semi-cloud" style laptop kept shutting down the flash... 3. These drives have been reliable for me--but anything can crash. So it's best to use cloud storage for non-sensitive data. Aegis only for the most sensitive data--and use several for backups.

Would you say this has longevity to it? and how would you compare this to the kingston datatraveler 4000 g2?

So far, I had this for more than a year, daily use on average 300 MB daily; no issues

Can this device be used to plug into a tv without a computer and unlock and view the media content?

As long as you unlock it prior to plugging it into the tv

Can this be used it for otg storage with my android cell phone? (with the help of a micro-usb adapter, of course)

I would imagine that it can, as long as the Android device will power the USB stick. I'm sure the smart phone will power it, but it will use some of the battery life in your phone. The Secure Key doesn't use any external software, so it should look like a standard mass storage device to the phone's USB port. I'm using the 8G Secure Key USB3 model and I'm very pleased with it.
