Lady Clementine
Beautifully written. An eye into history that I didn’t know . Would recommend this book to anyone interested in this slice of the happenings in the life of the Churchill family during the wars in Europe.

Unforgettable
This book was fantastic. I never even knew much about Winston Churchill wife. She was even more into helping with WWI/II than Elenor Roosevelt. This is my second book of Marie Benedict, I think I will be reading all f them.

Another great story by one of my newer favorite authors.
The Other Einstein was my first introduction to Marie Benedict. Of the two books it remains my favorite. This story about Clementine Churchill is illuminating, thought provoking, and inspires further digging into the life and times of yet another under acknowledged woman of history. I thoroughly enjoyed my first reading of this book and am certain to revisit it several more times in the near future. It challenges some of my older beliefs regarding the relationship between FDR, Eleanor, and Winston, it also made me want to learn more about the legacy of Churchill through his children. For me good books satisfy and entertain. Great books leave me hungry for more. This book in among the great.I received this book through Kindle Unlimited's "read for free" rental plan. Few of Ms. Benedict's books are listed in that program, so I was quick to respond when I received notice that this title had been added to the list. My personal budget will not allow for purchasing all of the books that I would like, libraries are inconvenient for my work schedule. This program has doe a fine job of making better books available to me at a price that fits my budget.

What would Lady Clementine say?
I had many mixed feelings about who Clemmie was as a woman, a wife, a mother. Her opinions of herself were also complex. So what would she have to say about how she was portrayed by this author?

Appreciation of the Churchills
I learned of the many challenges and bravery of the English people and their leaders. Clementine and Winston were leaders through a terrible war.

Clemmie Saves the World
While I enjoyed this book, it was drawn out in places and didn't keep my interest like Benedict's other books. My biggest issue was that Winston didn't seem to make a move without his wife's help. I agree that Clementine was a huge asset to him, and appeared his perfect partner, but for a man of Churchill's caliber, I doubt this total helplessness was true. Still, a worthwhile read for anyone interested in the era and the marriage of Clemmie and Winston Churchill.

Slow read - disappointing
I am glad to have learned about Churchill's wife, but I thought the book was very repetitive. I read it for my Book Club and couldn't wait to get it done.

An excellent read, she was a great lady and huge support for Winston.
Fascinating sort of a strong woman behind an amazing man. She certainly helped him through the darkest hours of the war.

Slow start but ultimately a good read
I love this author's previous book - the other Einstein - so that may have influenced my initial read of this book (Lady Clementine. I found the book slow going at first but knowing the author's other work I stuck with it. It was a great decision. I very much liked the focus on the relationship between Lady Clementine and husband Winston Churchill. I felt as if Ihad been shown behind the scenes of the Churchill's lived against a background of world war.
