Living Witness: Historic Trees of Texas

This small book is full of interesting tidbits about the historic trees of Texas. I read it very quickly and it will certainly remain a resource for my small collection of Texana. I find it hard to believe that there were only these few trees though... surely a little more could have been added? Hopefully there will be additional volumes.

This is a wonderful book; written with a true love for the Texas landscape. It's also the kind of book that makes you want to gas up the car for a nature filled roadtrip. Ralph Yznaga's beautiful photography is complimented by his sensitive and informative descriptions of these Texas treasures; anyone with the smallest interest in botanical history or dendrology in particular will be delighted with this collection.

Pictures are great. Stories are interesting. I wish the author had included trees from all over the state, not just central Texas.

Great pictures of really great trees. In other words, buy the book. I love trees. If you don't, something is wrong with you.
