MSR MiniWorks EX Microfilter Maintenance Kit

Love the filters so this is a must have though I haven`t needed the parts yet.

The product is as described; replacement parts for an MSR mini filter.

Lost item was in kit so was able to replace and get filter working again

Our duckbill valve broke on a trip and we had to boil water on the fire, which was not that big of a deal, but took hours to do. Luckily we were able to make/have a fire and there were no restrictions. If there were fire restrictions, or we couldn't do it, we would have been in tough shape.Plan ahead and just keep this kit with your filter.

Not much to dislike. Great product. Company that stands by their products. This filter has saved my a#$ more than I'll ever know.

This is an excellent repair kit and an absolute necessity to have along whenever you use your MSR Waterworks or MiniWorks water filter. It has everything you need to repair your water filter in the field:* O-ring assortment: Contains every O-ring found in your Waterworks/MiniWorks water filter. All are high quality, original MSR rings and work perfectly in your water filter.* Lever lube: Restores smooth operation to your water filter lever and makes your seals last longer.* Other items: This kit contains every wear item that you may need to replace in the field in addition to O-rings, such as a prefilter and even a duckbill valve.The only thing this kit doesn't contain is a spare filter element (which I would advise you have anyway) and a scrub patch. Like the excellent MSR repair kits for their stoves, this kit will give you peace of mind knowing that your critical gear is covered if you need to make a repair in the field. While the price is high, it is also up to MSR quality standards and amounts to rather cheap insurance if you ever need to use it in the back country.Recommended!

Full disclosure: I have the old (blue) model of the Minworks. This kit has all of the required replacement pieces that would wear out over time, except for that the gasket for the upper end of the cartridge is not the same size as the one I currently have. The blue miniworks filters use thick rubber rings on both ends. This kit has a much thinner rubber ring for the upper section. My suspicion is that this kit works best with the new EX-style cartridge. The upside is that the EX cartridge is supposed to work with the blue miniworks, so when my old cartridge finally goes, this kit will be 100% useful instead of merely 95%.TL;DR: great for the red miniworks, but if you have the blue one, you might want to read the whole review.

I have an older filter. Initially I thought this kit was missing an O ring but it is not. The ceramic filter has been redesigned and the second O ring is no longer needed. Took me awhile to figure that out because I am still using the original ceramic filter.

Not used it yet but it is needed for th once time the pump fails in the field.

Gutes Wartungsset in gewohnter MSR Qualität. Leider auch verhältnismäßig teuer!

Great little kit, it has everything that I will need if my pump has an issue.
