Wire and Bead Celtic Jewelry: 35 quick & stylish projects Paperback – Illustrated, February 13, 2014

I haven't had the chance to really get into this book yet, but I look forward to trying some of the projects. The Instructions seem clear, and there are lots of pics and guidance. So far, everything seems like it will be easy to follow. My only real co cern is the lack of skill on the part of this reader! (Me, that is!)

I like the book, however the directions are not clear enough for me to make these designs well myself. I have a bit of prior wire experience, but not enough to do these on my own. I will continue working and with practice should be able to make some of these designs.

I simply love this book. It shows you how to make links out of wire such as for bracelets or watch bands. Also it has a section which is my favorite near the back of the book. This section has many different Jig patterns. It is great for people like me who bought a really nice jig made out of stainless and all over the place on the internet I see patterns for the wig-jig. I bought this jig out of personal preference. And it is nice to see that I don't have to buy the wig-jig just to get the patterns. I also recommend the book "Making Bead & Wire Jewelry" by Dawn Cusick. She has even more jig patterns at the back of her book.

These designs are some of the most beautiful I've seen. Such graceful movement and flow. I love the way the artist uses colored wire. Reminds me of the illustrations in the Book of Kells. I haven't had a chance to read the tutorials yet, but the designs, for all their beauty, look as though they will be relatively simple to reproduce. This book was worth the price just to get to look at the pictures, but I can't wait to get started on a project or two.

They should have left Celtic out of the title. There are only a few projects that have somewhat of a Celtic design feel to them. I bought this book hoping to see real Celtic wirework designs and how to make them. The 4 (total) jig patterns are very basic. The projects are pretty, the instructions clear, the pictures great. It just is not what I expected based on the title of the book. There are a lot of coils and twists and swirls, but all very basic and most are not remotely Celtic,

The important thing to remember here is the second half of the title to this book: "35 quick & stylish projects". Keeping in mind these are supposed to be "quick" projects, the designs aren't so bad. This book begins with the standard Tools you will need to make wire jewelry, the materials (wires and their different gauges) and some very basic techniques you will need to know. There are some helpful photos to go along with the written instructions, but NOT enough to show you how to do all the steps. So, you have to be able to figure out what to do without the advantage of seeing it. This is just OK, and I don't recommend this book.

This has been the most useful book. From some of the instruction I've made some really neat wire-wrap and wire-formed jewelry, taught others and have loaned the book to help others get design ideas. We don't copy what's in the book, we just use the techniques to make our own designs.

I am new to the jewelry hobby. I have purchased components to make some of these items. I am trying to get the time to start. Amazon makes the choice of which book to purchase hard. I like the way you can view parts of books to help decide. I appreciate Amazon ease to order and quick delivery.

Beautiful designs.

ワイヤーワークの基本から、デザイン性の高いもの、他にない、工夫されたものが多数あり、勉強になりました。アクセサリーから、バレッタ、カフスまで載っていて楽しいですよ。オールカラー写真で細かく説明されていますので、英語がまったく読めない私でもOKでした。

so...i did a couple of hours at my local bead shop on a course for silver-smithing and wanted to get into it...i bought this book expecting to find one or two things i felt like doing in it (as is the case with most craft books)...i want to MAKE EVERYTHING IN THIS BOOK! every single project is elegant and wearable, the instructions assume you don't have solder, but teaches you how to make it with both solder or (following the clear, detailed instructions) with wrapping wire if necessary!so far i've made a cross pendant, a bracelet and i'm part way through making another necklace! brilliant for beginners without being patronising or childish! love love love this book!kit you need: wire (she explains what types in the start) round headed pliars, flat headed pliars, hammer and anvil/block for aestheticness, and wire cutters! also beads for some of the projects!look no further! this book is aces!

I dislike this book a great deal the best piece / photo is on the cover it is all pseudo celticnew age stuff nothing really chunky or for men at all i think any real ancient celtswould find most of the pieces strange to say the least to make it worse many of the piecesare from coloured wire very cheap looking and hard to follow the multi coloured designssave yourself some money and watch some real crafts people on you tube ill dispose ofmy copy now
