Pomì Strained Tomatoes, 7.05 oz., 24 Pack…

Like the product but I bought in Dec. and have an expiration date of January 2023. Not wort buying in bulk with that early of an expiration date. I'll try to find it elsewhere.

No problem except that the product is nearly expired. Received on November 17, 2022 and expiry date is 1/31/2023.

Everyone knows about the art of "doctoring" bottled red sauce, since the one universal property of bottled red sauces seems to be that it ranges in flavor from insipid to disgusting. So we all stock dried oregano and Italian herbs and garlic and anchovies and so forth, and we all spend time trying to rescue this pitiful excuse for red sauce that we just bought at the market, sometimes at a considerable price. A problem, surely.Well, it turns out there's a solution to the problem: Pomi strained or chopped or pureed tomatoes. From Italy, made with ripe tomatoes and nothing else, so you don't have to waste time trying to cancel out the flavors of sugar and cheap flavorings. I had heard about this and was sceptical, but ... it's true, it works.Just as an example of what you can do with this product, easily and at a reasonale cost. In a saucepan gently saute onion, adding course ground black pepper, fennel seeds, red chili flakes and a bay leaf until onions are really soft. Add more freshly chopped garlic than any sensible person would, stir everything around for a minute and then add Pomi. Stir gently until everything's mixed and then add dried oregano, Italian dried herbs and a dash of fish sauce. Turn the heat down to low, cover the pan and let it simmer away for 10 or 20 minutes, checking on it, stirring and maybe adding a little water occasionally.You'll make your own adjustments to this recipe because you're you and not me. But I guarantee you will be really happy with what you get for your trouble.And then the little boxes: how cute is that?

We love Pomi, unfortunately our local grocery does not carry it.

I like the carton....no "can" flavor.

I like this product. Healthy and VERY LOW SODIUM tomato sauce. But BEST USED BY was very very old dated 7/31/2022. Would like a fresher BEST USED BY dated 2023-2024. How would I find out the information when I order another shipment?

This passata is of excellent quality, and the only one I use when making a tomato based sauce. I make sure to never run out.

I’ve bought Pomi Strained Tomatoes at the store for several years now, and it is my go to tomato sauce for many recipes. It is flavorful and has a nice creamy consistency. I enjoy the versatility it offers me for pasta sauces, being able to choose the spices and veggies I may want on a particular day, as opposed to being limited to specific pasta sauces with pre-determined flavors.The only ingredient is tomatoes, so you can go from Italian to Indian, and everything in between.Love the convenience of being able to order a 12 pack from Amazon!
