Installed automatically. Voltages meet RS2323 specs. RJ9 pinout described accurately.
We bought these (2) units for two purposes. First, to update an iOptron telescope mount as-is. Second, to modify one unit for a custom application that used a different pinout mapping on an RJ11 connector and a much shorter (like 6 inches) cable. Upon testing we found the pinout description was accurate and the voltages were in the range required for RS232 (10 to 15 volt swing). Other vendors were selling units (that we bought and returned) that were advertised as being RS232 adapters but, in fact, only delivered 6V, which did not work when connected to known, good, RS232 devices. These Suamdoen units meet the RS232 specification and worked properly, both as-is for the iOptron and in our custom application when the connector was modified.

Works for iOptron CEM70G 8407+ Hand Controller
I won't take a star off from the product itself, but this is the second time I've received a used product aka a "new" product that was returned for whatever reason and then shipped out as new again. The bag was cut and the twist tie was tied a second time. So it either just didn't work for the first customer or it did and they just returned it after updating and said it didn't work, just to get their money back.Unfortunately, I need this wire for any future updates. It's cheaper than a $200 8410 hand controller which is updated via through the mount and no longer requires this wire. The wire works as intended and doesn't seem to be damaged. So I will keep it.

Works as designed
I bought this cable to drive the mount from my ASIAIR Pro, and it worked. There was a cable in the case with my used iEQ45Pro, but it did not work. Perhaps it is for firmware upgrades since it did not work as a control cable...

Random Disconnects
Although compatible with Ioptron mounts, the cable used is very thin and has random disconnects from the mount.

A single cable vs 2.
Replaced the USB to Rs232 cable and Rs232 to iOptron mount combo with a single cable

Flawless performance so far
Works exactly as it should on a few different iOptron mounts that I have tried. There are less expensive versions that appear to be functionally identical.

Faulty cable
Time got away from me and I wasn't able to try out this cable with my telescope until after the return window....of course. I downloaded the FTDI driver, have all the other programs and drivers necessary, no matter what I do the device cannot be found. I noticed damage on the wires going into the rj9 connector end. Poor quality.
