2021 REVIEW 2007 jeep wrangler jk
Awesome product for the price! It is a knock-off but it is made of thick steel and good looking welds. It did come together fairly easily, it comes with three extension tube to accommodate for different tire sizes, tools to install and required hardware for installing. You can see in my images that the mounting bracket that goes behind the tire can be rotated to work with your bolt pattern, also, you will see that a split ring washer needs to be added (included) to the square tube that attaches to the bracket (this is important). My pictures will also show that I had to remove the center cap on my spare tire to get the tube to fit through. Once fully mounted with center screw/knob tighten the oval-shaped metal plate slightly pressed on my tire (which we want), this is to help stabilize the rack. Once bike was attached using provided strap, I hit the highway, the mountain bike did not flop around and seamed secured. If anything changes with performance or quality I will update.

Solid product. Works even better than I expected!
Exactly what I needed for a 2015 Jeep Wrangler. I don't know about some of these negative reviews: This seems like a great carrier if installed right. You can flip the base plate over for more mounting options to fit the your lugs; it's designed to work either way. After popping out the Jeep logo cap the medium mounting tube was a perfect fit on my stock wheel and tire. The rest of the installation was simple: Slide the top tube into the bottom tube, install three bolts, and you're done. Unlike what you see in several reviews, know that the top of the unit DOES rotate to the side and out of the way. You just need to remove the two bolts with the included wrench and replace them after rotation. It's easy but takes a couple minutes. The way the screw knob locks the carrier onto the vehicle is pretty ingenious. If you secured your bike to the bottom part of the unit, I think this should be a decent antitheft solution. It would take some real effort for a thief to remove the bike. Once installed, the unit is rock-solid with zero wobble. And you still have access to your rear door and glass and the hitch receiver. I'm very satisfied with this product. Seems like a way more effective option than hitch mounts costing four times or more as much, and definitely better than the products that require an elaborate system of straps around the tire and still aren't secure. At the price it's a no-brainer.

Appears to be alright. Time will tell.
The quality of the rack is pretty good and feels sturdy. I have a 2011 Wrangler with stock wheels and I concur with one of the other buyers that the short stem is too short. The rack came with some foam pieces and I did like the other poster and wrapped it around the top post between the tire and post itself. Another issue that I had with installing on the Wrangler is that the center plate did not exactly line up with the studs coming off the tire carrier. However, I flipped it 180 degrees. This may be how it was intended to be used as the post goes through the center of the wheel.Lastly, I am not exactly sure how the top part of the rack is supposed to rotate out of the way. Time will tell how well this rack holds up, but the first short drive with the MTB loaded up looked to give a very sturdy mount.

There grooves are too close. Rusts easy
Had to drill to make one of the holes bigger to fit my vehicle, which sucked since it's now unreturnable. And I would have returned it after figuring out that the two grooves the bike frames are supposed to hang on are way too close together. Both bikes we use are on the larger side, so perhaps it may be ideal for smaller/kids bikes. For us, it holds a single bike beautifully, but hanging up the second bike becomes problematic because the paddles (and depending on the bike orientation - the handlebars) of both bikes bump into each other, because the rack is made so that the frames of the bikes are held only a few inches apart, side by side.My other gripe, is that several parts of the doohickey rusted almost immediately after exposure to one rain.So in conclusion, it's a decent rack for a single bike (or possibly for two smaller/kid-size bikes), though it may need some Rust-Oleum type treatment and may not fit all cars out of the box.

Great idea but shoddy build quality
Overall, the mount works as it should. I had to wallow out a couple of the holes to get it to bolt together squarely. It just did not seem to have any QA behind the actual fit and finish of the product. the saddles are very close together, so you need to get creative with how you load two bikes ( I have e-bikes, which may add to the challenge) but once they are on, they are good to go. It is nice to now be able to open the tailgate after the bikes are loaded up!

SOLID, ADAPTABLE
Except for an extra cap nut for the short bolt, parts provided are more than ample for any tire mount setup. You will end up with two extra shafts and having to rummage in the garage for the extra nut, but the trade-off in easy installation is worth it. Size of my spare tire and length of the appropriate shaft left an up-down wobble of my mounted bike but the oval spare tire protector helps. We'll see if that poses a problem on long trips, but right now I'm so pleased with it I'd probably just make some adjustments rather than returning it. Appreciated the little tubular cushions, heavy tie-downs (hard to use buckle on the longest one, though). Box arrived with end crushed and open but the product was encased in its own very thick box inside, so it was fine. Compared to bike shop prices, it's a good value to me.

The rack is sturdy and good value
The rack is sturdy and good value. My objection is with the terrible instructions, or non instructions. Installing the rack was no problem; however getting it off was another issue. The locking knob when it wiggles is in the OFF/LOCK position...not mentioned in the instructions. .I assumed since it wiggled it was unlocked and couldn't unscrew it. Ended up taking the rack to a service shop to try to get it off...my concern was that if I had a tire flat I wouldn't be able to get to the tire. After several attempts the mechanic figured out the locking knob when rigid is in the UNLOCK position and then is able to unscrew. This is the opposite of what you might expect..
