Can a hose be connected to the drain to direct the outflow?

I don’t think you can. There are no threads to attach a hose.

Is this sturdy enough to frequently carry it when it’s filled with water?

Probably. It would be too heavy for me to carry. The rubber sides with the ribs. For collapsing are very strong. The drain is water tight.

I have an unwrapped one that I bought for a friend. It still has the tag attached that says Made in China, and that the SAMMAT LLC is based in Chicago, IL 60611. The product is stamped with U.S. Patent information on the bottom. The product itself does not have any 'made in' information.
