Shearwater Research Peregrine Adventures Edition Dive Computer

I’m an avid scuba diver and needed a reliable back up dive computer. This computer is very easy to read under water with nice clear figures. It provides all the key elements for scuba diving. Simple to use and easy to set up. I would recommend to all levels of scuba divers.

Completed first dive trip with this computer, and it is excellent. The display is very easy to read, particularly in low light conditions. Made 4 dives at dusk exiting the water after sundown, and had zero difficulty reading the display. The vibration to note when a safety stop begins and ends is an outstanding feature. Made 17 dives over 6 days and only reached 50% battery life - I did not have to charge the battery at all. The menu is intuitive, and easy to set Nitrox %. I have logged 1000+ dives yet have zero desire for an air integrated dive computer - and even if I did I'd have an SPG strapped to my BCD anyway, so there is no point. This is an outstanding dive computer - simple, functional with an excellent display.

It's the best dive computer I've owned so far. It's easy to use and eliminates guesswork. The digital dive log feature is a plus, too!

I had a dive trip coming up to Mexico for an intense week of diving (cenotes, night, deep, drift, etc.) and I wanted a good computer that would be easy to read, navigate the menus and not break the bank. I had looked at my friends choice which was air integrated, but it was 3 times more. I also looked at Shearwater's other selection, but with all the reviews I've read on the internet I chose the Peregrine and I am glad I did. I'm still learning all the features of this DC, but my two biggest must have's which also were my favorites of this computer was the amazing battery life and easy to read display. I dove the entire week without a recharge and it's still sitting at close to 90% while back at home in Seattle. The display is so clear and vibrant making it easy to see current depth, dive time and alerts for safety stop time and depth. Highly recommend this!!!

Readability, alerts, safety stop features

I’ve been very happy with this dive computer. Easy set up, easy to read underwater with a large lighted display and the battery life is excellent. Charging is easy and downloading dive stats is also very easy. I would rate it at 4.5 stars if I could. My only complaint is that the display surface scratches easily, be sure to apply the protective sheet before using it.

Bought this dive computer recently and have now had 4 dives with it. Love how easy it is to use and set up. Best part is the large color screen. My eyes aren't the best anymore so my previous Garmin dive watch was difficult to see at times especially in low light. The Peregrine is bright, large and easy to read. My only regret is shortly after buying Shearwater released the TX version with Air Integration and compass. Wish there was just a simple software update for this version to be able to be Air integrated and get the compass.

I have two other Shearwaters - a Predator wired into my rebreather and a Petrel 2 that is my usual backup or primary open circuit computer. I needed another backup computer and found that my box of older devices wasn't going to cut it. Long story short, I purchased the Peregrine knowing that it was an entry level Shearwater and that's fine. I only need nitrox and gauge mode on this one, no need for air integration. The familiarity of the interface was a decision factor as was the cost. It used to be the case that dive shops would sell newcomers a basic computer knowing that if they got more involved, there would be more computer sales in the future. Shearwater have upended this approach even with the Peregrine since it'll see you through entry to Nitrox based deco dives. The wireless charging is a nice feature, especially when I learned the charger is a standard Qi device. If you ever lose it, just get a commodity charger! Best for rec->early tech divers. If you need a computer with more than three gases in the future, the Peregrine becomes a great gauge/bottom timer. Good as a casual backup for open circuit dives with air or nitrox and 'simple' deco dives.

replaced an older Oceanic I had. Easy to use and easy to read dive computer for a newly certified diver up to an advanced diver as well. NO complaints whatsoever! This one is not air integrated and does not have a digital compass FYI. Shearwater has other awesome dive computers with those features, check it out. :-)
