I have used Altamont grips in the past and have found them to be very high quality in every respect. These J Frame S&W grips are no exception. I bought these to replace the factory rubber grips that came on my S&W 442 revolver. The craftsmanship and quality in these grips is second to none. They fit the 442 perfectly and feel very good in my large hands. Although appearances are secondary to function, these grips do look very nice. One crucial aspect of these grips is that they are cut properly so that I can use my HKS speedloaders. The factory rubber grips had too much material in the wrong place and would not allow their use. Value is the sum of an item's quality, price and practicality, and these grips are well worth every penny. Stay safe out there, and God bless!

These are well made and attractive wood grips. The two pieces match together very well. They give better grip filling the gap between the frame and trigger guard.

These grips are beautiful with a smooth and comfortable feel. They were very easy to put on my .38 Airweight!

I usually don't write reviews but this product is great. As nice as my $200.00 grips from other companies. Fit,finish.wood grain and workmanship are flawless. I replaced the original banana grips on my S&W chief with these and the ergonomics are greatly improved. My hands are fairly large carpenter hands and i get a comfortable two finger grip. I highly recommend these grips.

Purchased the smooth untextured rosewood grips. They look great on my blue steel model 36. I was a little concerned that they would interfere with the use of a speed loader but I am happy to report that I had no problems with this using a Safariland Comp 1 speed loader. Worked fine. My only issue is the edges where the grip is behind the trigger are squared off and kind of sharp. This can bite your trigger finger if your finger wrapped too far around the trigger. It would have been perfect if this had been rounded off. For this they lose one star. Other wise they are good grips at a fair price.

The flats on the rear are very sharp. They aren't contoured like they should be. It feels like gripping a brick. Not something you'd want to use for shooting a j-frame. The finger grooves on the front are uneven from the left to right panel. This puts another sharp edge on the front. I have 4 other grips from Altamont. They're all ok. I emailed Altamont directly about this set being defective and gave them two days to respond before I left a review. I got no response. This will be my last Altamont purchase. I just expected much better from them.

Fit right on my J frame Smith and Wesson. Very nice fit and finish. The color is really close to grips on my 2020 colt python.
